Out of curiousity, what color is the action button suppose to light up as? I have a TMNT pro and it seems to only either light up blue or white. I've seen some pics of other machines where the button lights up green. You'd figure it would light up as the color of the turtle you're playing as.

Quoted from Legenbad:

If you scroll through the menu during a game by holding both flippers, it will tell you what the action button colors mean. My premium cycles between white, purple, and red. Red is triggered during pizza challenge, purple is lit to change the position of the glider and denote when the glider value can be built, and white is for ball launch.

On the pro it just says white to launch ball and orange/red to eat pizza. Doesn't say anything about blue though. Perhaps the colors are different depending on the models. At the very least mine wouldn't turn purple since the pros don't have that diverter.

So I knew I'd mess up my new machine with a mod, just didn't think it would be this soon. I installed some pinstadiums in my machine and upon turning on the machine, I saw a spark from come from this general area of the power supply board and now smell burning. I turned the game off and unplugged the pinstadiums from the service outlet and now the game won't boot up. Any ideas on what I can do?

Quoted from wolffcub:

You can see the smoke mark on the board to the left of CN5

Yeah I noticed that right after taking the picture. I assume something shorted on the PF. Been talking with Scott over at Pinstadium (EXCELLENT customer service by the way), and he says that it doesn't seem to be the pinstadiums causing it. I can't honestly say what fried the power distribution board, and now I'm a little nervous of getting a new board and possibly burning it out again.

Quoted from wolffcub:

Unplug the connectors on the power board and see if something is noticeable where it burnt. ie a certain pin or group. It might help you narrow down where it possibly can be shorted or the issue is coming from.

So upon further inspection, it looks like R5 looks to be burnt to all hell and none of the C5 or C4 connectors seems to be an issue. Any idea where that leads to?

So I unplugged the shaker motor and the game boots up now, but it complains about Node Board 189 not being found. Any idea what could be the problem now?

#10033 1 year ago
Quoted from wolffcub:

it completely un soldered itself. The part is sitting between the cn7 connector and the cap.

Good eye!! I had the shaker installed before, but I had taken it out to adjust it at the same time I installed the pinstadium. I bought a replacement power distribution board, so hopefully that should get me up and running and I suspect the culprit is more of the shaker than anything else at this point.

So just an update. I plugged CN5 and CN4 back (I was so flustered that I didn't plug them back in upon trying to see if the game still works...I'm an idiot). Game boots and plays, but the shaker motor is definitely the culprit. Pinstadiums even work now. Not sure how the shaker motor blew that resistor, but that seems to be the problem.

#10037 1 year ago
Quoted from gumnut01:

Sometimes on shaker motors the arm that rotates around touches the wire contacts. Mine did that when I adjusted the weight to close to the motor. Bam.

Did it blow something on your power distributor board? That's what ended up happening to me.

Edit:
I just took a look at the shaker motor. I'm almost sure that is what busted my board now. Thank you for putting mind at ease. Now I know what caused the issue.

Out of curiosity, when you fixed the shaker motor, did you try using it before repairing the board?

Quoted from gumnut01:

Sorry for late reply. Covid. Mine just reset the machine. Luckily nothing blown.

Hope you're feeling better! Just replaced my power distro board and adjusted the shaker so it's not touching the contacts anymore. Everything is fully functioning now, thanks for the tip!

Quoted from Eskaybee:

Another example is controlling the weapon hurry up shots.

I believe there's a setting that allows you to change the weapon hurry up inline by flipping the flippers. Not sure if that's how it is default or if that's a setting I made, but that's how it is on my pro.

Is anyone else disappointed to see all these other games get these code updates while TMNT sits with nothing even with a new movie released? Seems like a missed opportunity
