I absolutely enjoy playing TMNT. It gives me the 'one more game' feels, and when I get into team-up, or nail a couple combo shots (right ramp, screamin' center ramp, left ramp combo comes to mind), it reminds me of why I am in the hobby.
When that becomes tiring, the Half-Shell Challenge is there to practice shots and try to shave off a few seconds time.
Not saying it is perfect, but dang I really do like spending time playin it!
I have seen Extra Ball and lit Turtle Power MB carry over unintentionally into a new game - here are the steps to recreate (1.50 code / IC installed):
1. Start game with IC connected user
2. Choose any Turtle (In my case it was Leonardo)
3. Qualify Turtle Power MB
4. Start & Fail 2 modes (lights extra ball). In my case on the 3rd ball I drained while playing the 2nd mode.
5. After the match process plays out, start a new game (IC connected prompts if you wanna start another game)
6. Pick the same turtle from Step 1 - on plunge, Extra ball will be lit, as well as TPMB
Hope that helps in debugging!
Found an edge case bug for the TMNT coding crew Xaqery :
1. Change adjustment setting for ball save from the lair to 2 seconds.
2. Start Half Shell Challenge.
3. Make last turtle shot Leonardo (lair).
4. When game ejects balls at ending, the ball save will trigger and you will play a ghost ball with score.
5. Once ball drains, game resets back to attract mode.
Quoted from maffewl:You can adjust the weights so it doesn’t rattle the house. It makes it much more of a rumble than a rattle.
maffewl is spot on with this - one of the weights in your shaker can be rotated 90 degrees, which will reduce the overall power of the shaker effect. I had to do this to my TMNT as well.
IMG_1254 (resized).JPGI don’t know what Stern is planning for IC, but I believe it would be a great idea to include the capability of sending event logs and/or crash data over wifi when we experience these issues.
May help with replication steps and allow other meta information (like pcb hardware info) to be collated into finding trends leading to solutions
