Quoted from Guinnesstime:

I bought this in 2013. I learned on LOTR, because the VUK switches get hammered and break and hey, I want to play my games.

Never had an issue. Pricey yeah but it heats up super quick and you won't ever need anything else.

Yep I own that one as well. Works well for PCB board work too. You notice a big difference in temp controlled vs non temp controlled. I have a cheap $20 Weller iron I use in a pinch in the service outlet, but i dont trust it for any sensitive board work. If you own a $5k pinball machine, you can spend a few bucks for the right tool to maintain it. (Speaking from experience)

I grabbed a pro for $6k. Added the glider mod from mezel mods and the party van from lermods and the Neca Krang figure(adding that soon) from eBay for $50 and it looks really good. Those mods really fit the game well and fill any gaps there may have been on the pro looks wise.

The pro is a great fully featured game, it really doesn’t seem like anything is missing. I’m sure the premium is nice, but with the crazy prices all around it really seems like the pro is a good value.

That official topper is super cool

#8431 2 years ago

Xaqery , had two turtle power multiball crashes in 2 days. Getting nervous about including this game in tournaments and leagues Super fun game otherwise!

#8433 2 years ago
Quoted from shaub:

Any insight on what else may have been happening at the time that the crash happened?

Not really, sorry. Just an average mode + turtle power MB

#8445 2 years ago
Quoted from pinballaddicted:

Have you tried replacing the SD card?
We replaced ours and have not had a crash since.

I have not. I’ll do that and report back sometime in the future

#8452 2 years ago

I don’t get the desire to back hand the left ramp on this game. On both TMNT I play, it’s not very possible or probable to make that shot. I play a lot of tournament pinball so I don’t think it’s a matter of my skill. The right ramp, however, I do so all the time.

Congrats! I agree, it’s a lot of fun.

Congrats! Looks like a fun room

The update is great! In particular I like the virtual locks on the pizza parlor. Really speeds up the game for home play. I also appreciate the ability to adjust the pizza spinner and use it only for MB start.

#8563 2 years ago
Quoted from TeamUp:

I think the game is fast enough, no?!
I thought the Physical lock was intended for ninja pizza MB.
So how does that work now?

Quite simple. Instead of launching a new ball from the shooter lane you get a virtual “lock” and it kicks it out from the parlor.

On Multiball start, the rest of the balls are kicked from the shooter lane.

If you’re a competitive player or tournament director, this can also be useful to keep people from short plunging to the right flipper after every lock.

I don’t mean this “speeds up the ball”, it just makes it so you don’t have to plunge every time you get a pizza parlor lock…which sounds silly to complain about but it does keep the game moving instead of having to stop and plunge each time.

#8567 2 years ago
Quoted from shaub:

I wonder if Virtual Locks change the Ninja Pizza Multiball start up sequence. I guess it probably just kicks out the one ball onto the pizza magnet now and then auto launches two more balls into play.

Yep it does, but not really. It catches the 1 ball on the magnet instead of the 3 that would have come out of the lock. Otherwise all is the same as you described.

#8573 2 years ago

Yep. But it only happened for a second so I didn’t think much of it.

#8602 2 years ago
Quoted from acons017:

I haven't tried 1.51 yet. If the ball you lock then gets kicked out of the parlor, how do balls remain in the parlor to start NPMB? Typically the balls flood out of the Beebob lane while the top flipper is raised to allow all the balls to spin on the pizza. If the parlor keeps spitting out the balls at every lock, do we lose the pizza spin?

You still get the pizza spin, but only 1 ball will come out of the lair and do the spin. The rest will be launched from the shooter lane and won’t be a part of the pizza spin start.

#8616 2 years ago
Quoted from beltking:

Can you disable the pizza spinner in settings for normal game play and just use for the Multiball part? Maybe better to keep things from going sdtm.

Yep. You can have it full, multiball only, or none at all.

Sounds to me like you finished a mode that would hold a ball and you happened to get the other two up there while it was playing the closing animation. I get two up there from time to time as I stack a mode with multiball.

In other words, just a normal part of gameplay.

#8649 2 years ago

If I had to guess it’d be the machine thinks there’s a ball in there. Meaning, the switch is probably false triggering once in a while and the game thinks it needs to clear the ball(even in attract mode).

#8689 2 years ago

I still love the game. Haven’t tried the new SD card approach for the TP multiball bug but also haven’t had the problem in a long time.

The code certainly has come a long way and I find it quite fun. I’m a good player and with my fast playing setup I still haven’t reached final battle on my machine. That’s ok, gives me a goal to shoot for. Great rewards for completing modes, fun awards for combos, multiballs are valuable enough on their own now, amazing light show, great music, etc etc. If you don’t like TMNT it may not be your game, but for me this game is all around just great. I’m sure if a noob came and played my machine they’d hate it though, I don’t mind setting something up tough as nails for my own enjoyment. The other one we have locally it set up less-steep with flipper power turned down so it’s a lot less punishing. Probably the way to go for most players to enjoy it.

Quoted from Walk:

Hi everyone. I'm having a new issue where the ramp lock on my Pro TMNT isn't working. I noticed it when I hit Raphael's Weapon Skill Shot and it no longer stops on the ramp. I did a coil test and its not moving during the test. I tried to search the thread but I'm not seeing much. Hashman did you ever find a fix? I've never reached out to Stern for anything...1st pin and all. Is it a fairly easy process if I need a new coil or part replacement?
Thanks guys.

You did the first thing I would do, test it in coil test. I would call stern support and start the conversation. It may end up needing a new part but they’re gonna want to document your troubleshooting as well if they’re going to send you something (like a coil or node board).

"When I get a free game, I always munch on some pizza!"

I love free games and pizza, but “always” munching on pizza after a free game seems pretty excessive haha.

Here are my settings for the Polk PSW10 with TMNT. Sounds awesome! That April hurry up and similar music tracks really pump.

Quoted from Thomas3184:

I just did team up and had rescue any perk. Is it normal that rescuing one takes you straight to pizza party and completes mode?

I’m kinda wondering this too. I teamed up with neutrinos and got to pizza party after one rescue. All happened too fast and I don’t remember what episodes I completed beforehand.

#8839 1 year ago

For what it’s worth, I haven’t seen the TP multiball bug in months on my machine or have had it happen playing at our local location. Not saying it shouldn’t be fixed, just noting that in case anyone is on the fence on buying one because of it.

#8854 1 year ago
Quoted from Deepblue89:

Perhaps someone can help with this question. How do I start Neutrino Party? I already have all turtles trained to Level 4. Do I still need to complete training three times in a game?

Yes you still need to complete training multiple times even if you are leveled up. That’s a complaint some folks had about IC.

Quoted from shaub:

I believe Dwight mentioned on a podcast that there was a debate between including the diverter or the spinning pizza disc on the Pro and they went with the Pizza. If that was the case, in hindsight they definitely should have went with diverter on the Pro. When it comes down to it, the Pizza Disc doesn't really add much to the overall game. But, what's done is done.

I’d take the pizza disc any day!! All my guests comment on how fun the multiball start is.

How's this for a Sunday. Having a beer with John Borg.
[quoted image]

Tell him thanks for making TMNT. Personally I think it was really well done playfield wise. The pro is a really fun shooter.

Admittedly I wish the side ramp was easier to hit for faster moving combos but everything can’t be perfect always haha.

So I have a HUO TMNT pro. Love it. However I I always thought it was a touch TOO fast. I switched from the stock flipper power settings to 200, 200, 180(upper) and it really smoothed the game out. The shots just feel better to me with the ball traveling ever so much slower. You can’t back hand the right ramp on my game anymore but the forehand feels much more natural. Give it a try, it only takes 15 seconds to change in the menu.

I’m a competitive player and I don’t suck so it wasn’t that. The ball just felt like a laser beam on this playfield with the stock flipper settings and shots didn’t feel great even with it set pretty steep.

I still love my “interactive party van” on the right ramp. I know it’s a flasher in a matchbox car, but it’s fun when the headlights flash at you.

Also the pro glider mod is well worth it and looks great. Also the NECA Krang is a nice addition even if not lit.

Also, the pinnovator subwoofer output with PSW10 sub rocks on this game.

Also, thanks so much Stern folks for fixing TPMB. It means a whole lot to this community.

Also, turning the flipper power down on my game made it more fun for me overall. Can’t backhand the right ramp but the forehand to the right ramp isn’t so blazing fast either so that’s nice.

Random post, but I was feeling the turtle love lately.

A PAPA circuit event used TMNT in the tourney this weekend. It was on super old code. Top score for the weekend was maybe 25 mil? Made for some interesting games. But hey, there were no crashes the whole weekend to my knowledge.

#9919 1 year ago
Quoted from shaub:

I wonder why they wouldn't have had it updated to the latest code. It's the most stable the code has been in a very, very long time.

Probably wasn’t on purpose, they just didn’t realize it when they subbed it in for another game that went down.

Quoted from ralphwiggum:

I use external subs on all my games and turtles has a great low bass soundtrack throughout.

Tmnt with the pinnovators sub connector and a Polk PSW10 is wonderful.

The shooter groove, April hurry up, and team up music(just to name a few) really rock.
