I'm 3 days into owning a turtles premium and couldn't be happier. It's such a blast and the entire family is right into it. Seems we couldn't have picked a better time to pick one up with the recent code updates. I'm surprised this table isn't more popular but thankful it isn't as if it were I probably wouldn't have been able to get one!

Quoted from plasticbugs:

For folks wondering if this is a game worth owning, I can say that TMNT has made me a better and more patient player.
TMNT is my first and only owned pinball machine. I played for years in arcades as a kid in the 90s but I never considered my play decent and I never really learned any game's ruleset -- honestly not even sure I realized there was a ruleset. I was a flipper with questionable reflexes and lousy ball control.
This game will eat you alive if you do not practice solid ball control - live catches, trapping the ball, passing the ball between flippers, etc. I’m now getting into cradling multiple balls and handling cradle separation (needs improvement!). I still have much to learn but have improved as a player these last two years and I would think those skills translate to other games - Covid and two small children has made it hard to get out there and play games on location.
I can now get to Team Up mini wizard mode like one out of every four games. In the first year and a half of owning TMNT I only saw Team Up once during a lucky game. So just in the last 8 months or so I’ve focused on core skills and it has paid off immeasurably. Last week I got to Final Battle for the first time and it felt huge .
TMNT is tons of fun, rewarding, plus it’s a theme I’ll never get tired of. I'm enjoying tricking my game out with some tastefully placed NECA figures and am looking forward to my kids being old enough to enjoy it and we can use the multiplayer co-op mode (another huge selling point).

Totally agree. Each session I have on this game I am consistently hitting higher score ranges as my skills improved. It's definitely a table that helps you become a better player and is a ton of fun at the same time.

Quoted from Thunderbird:

Shows how truly faulty the “false 100” really is. It’s in vogue to rank anything Elwin does as high and most anything Borg does as a beat down game. Even though very quiet and reserved Borg is every bit the designer Elwin is and has been at it longer. Pinside is very biased toward the current popular person and he does stellar layouts for sure. Owners of old relic games also seem to have a strong motivation to beat down modern games, lol.

Well I'm not complaining! I managed to pick up a second hand Premium for a great price. Perhaps if it were rated higher (and more fairly tbh) it would've commanded a higher price and I wouldn't be enjoying ownership. Selfishly, all a higher rating might do for me is increase the demand and potential value of my machine but that assumes I'm interested in ever moving it on which at this stage I have to say that I have no intention of ever doing so. The only real losers from the low rating so far as I'm concerned are those that have not yet discovered how truly great this game is lol

Quoted from CypherPinball:

So what do we think, one more code update to address any lingering bugs? We are coming up on 3 years (well 2 and a half). I don't think we can expect any new features or anything.
And I gotta say we've had some pretty good updates. Half shell challenge is unlike anything on any other stern table. That was probably my favorite feature from a code update.

When the ball exits the lair and sometimes goes down the left outlane absolutely does my head in because i feel theres not much I could do to prevent it from happening. A simple code change to return that ball in that scenario would be a real winner I reckon.

Quoted from NovaCade:

There is an adjustment to add a ball save timer for there.

Oh wow. I didn't realise. I'll definitely play with that. Thanks for the tip.

Thought I would share my recent experience.

I'm a single pin household and have had turtles premium in here for about 3 months. Apart from a session at a nearby bar a couple of months ago it's the only pin I play. And I play it everyday.

Last week I had some time to kill and jumped on a Godzilla Pro. Now it could've been that game was set-up poorly but my experience was Godzilla Pro was very slow and ... easy. It was still a fun game to play but it felt like I was playing something that was 20 years old. Nowhere near as fast and exciting as Turtles.

It is absolutely true when people say Turtles help make you a better player.
