About to place my order for pro, are they going into homes now?
Rather not wait a month for it.

#1007 3 years ago

white plunger on left side of coin door by hinge

#1207 3 years ago
Quoted from Maide:

Running into an issue on an LE where the ramp glider is constantly moving to the far-left position (feed right flipper). If I move it anywhere else, the software moves it back. I tried using the calibration tool in the diagnostics to re-teach it "center", but it doesn't make a difference; it just keeps moving to the left. If I manually move it to the far-right, and toggle through the positions, it always moves one position left each time I change.

From my experience in the RC world, sounds like the servo that moves glider has failed.
RC Servos have position sensors inside, and are only told to go to an angle, then generally told to go back to center.
The servo should know where center is.

Side note no update on my Pro Shipping

Just got confirmation my Pro has shipped.

#1816 3 years ago
Quoted from mahony:

Just received my shipping notification and tracking number for TMNT PRO this morning. I ordered mine on July 23rd. Tracking info has not updated. I'm guessing it drop shipped from Stern in IL. Now I just have to wait the week for it to reach me in California.

I ordered about the same time from my guy, Its coming and different carrier than usual so i think mine is drop shipping as well.

#1891 3 years ago

Can anyone recommend a source for mylar sheets? Im seeing dimensions/specs all over the board.

#2005 3 years ago

Pro finally came today
July 24 build
PF is flawless
Zero issues with game
Code updated perfect.

Quoted from zeldarioid:

I’ve seen a few sets of photos where the entire middle of the playfield, the vast majority of the field, is super dark, just like Jurassic Park. Noticing a strange lack of spotlights. Can anyone who owns one confirm that the playfield is again dark like JP? I am in for a TMNT Premium, so I won’t be able to see for myself until at least the end of August, if I’m lucky. Want to know if I should get some spotlights prepped.

Yes I play in a dark room and feel that the middle of the PF is dark. Different modes change this I think, only 8 games played. I will likely build another set of poormans stadium lights.

#2051 3 years ago
Quoted from Bmwdrummer:

Quick update should be fine. Full is only if there is something wrong and you need to do a full delete and reinstall. I'd be curious to see if you are having the same scoring issue with 1.11 that I am on the LE. The bonus adds a 1 to the end which shouldn't happen. Regarding the action button on the Pro, pretty sure it's just for the pizza eating contest and also another option to launch the ball.

Pro here at 1.11 code and yes its adding in the 1s

#2056 3 years ago
Quoted from Chubbie:

Anyone know how to protect against this shooting lane damage from getting worse?
[quoted image]

I just ordered the full shooter lane protector kit from Cliffys.

Edit I requested to order, they are not in full production yet, seems they are pending if enough requests are made.

#2059 3 years ago
Quoted from Yoko2una:

What did you order? I was just on the site but it looks like there's not a common model for SPIKE and TMNT is still in the works it looks.

http://www.passionforpinball.com/wip.htm

At the top of the page, took me a while to find on the website.

They are listed as work in progress, seems they will go into production if there are enough requests.

Quoted from durgee7:

This print issue is a real buzzkill. Is it really noticeable during gameplay? I'm anticipating this to be an issue when mine arrives in a few days.

I don't know what to think yes mine is grainy up close, but from playing position its fine. Id rather have solid clear coat and no chipping than perfect graphics.

My JP pro looks the same upclose. IMDN is perfect

I sent cliff an email to request the protector as well. Started doing the same damn thing to my shooter lane after only one day of play smh... What is Stern using, balsa wood?

received an invoice yesterday so they are being produced just not on the normal page yet

Anyone have a Electronic level they would recommend? Need something to dial it in

just buy a cheap digitial inclinometer on any website. i have a few that were no name and work great.

#2259 3 years ago

50 games in and my balls are magnetized slightly, getting stuck together and not coming out of the van lock. Fortunately I planned for this and have some carbon steel balls for the game.

#2262 3 years ago

factory protectors between legs and cabinet, leave the factory protectors in there that are screwed to cab,
Then I get nylon washers to place under head of bolt between factory washer and leg.

#2263 3 years ago
Quoted from joelbob:

Where do you suggest getting these from?

Generally I get them from pinball life usually order a handful every time i order something from them.

#2277 3 years ago

Is there any player control for the up-post in the top left of orbits,
I feel like it is always up to use left orbit to feed upper left flipper for inner orbit or center ramp shot.

Ive noticed at times when hitting right orbit ball will continue out left orbit or will stop and roll through pop bumpers.
Cant seem to figure out why or when it changes.

Or Im just an idiot.

#2314 3 years ago
Quoted from acons017:

I spoke with someone from Stern a few weeks ago. They told me that they would be manufacturing Premiums from Aug 11th-20th. The first 1/3 of those manufactured are reserved for distribution overseas.
I bought my Premium from Flip N Out Pinball. Anyone know if Stern drops ships with them, or does it go Stern->Flip N Out-> my home?

3 of the 4 NIBs I have ordered went Stern to Dist to me, only 1 was direct from Stern to Me

#2328 3 years ago
Quoted from mahony:

I set the game up last night and I'm loving it. A pinball buddy stopped by to play and really enjoyed the game as well. There is a washer under my star post with no sign of pooling. I'm unable to tell if the artwork is grainy from my normal playing position. I look at it up close and it looks good to me. Only minor complaint I have is the lockdown bar feels a bit long on it. It fits snug on the left side, but extends past the machine by a quarter of an inch on the right side leaving a small gap. When I ordered the machine I tried several dealers to see who could give me the quickest delivery. I ended up going with Classic Game Rooms out of Georgia. In July I was told it would ship between August 3rd and Aug 7th. It shipped to me on August 3rd. My major concern was damage during shipping coming from GA to California. To my surprise the box had extra cardboard added to protect the original box and cardboard corner supports added to all 4 corners. I've never purchased a NIB before so I'm unable to compare distributors. Jason answered all of my emails quickly, set the proper expectation on when it would be shipped, and then sent tracking info the day it shipped.
[quoted image][quoted image]

Yup got mine from Jason too, infact last 4 from him. He has been very good with extra packaging.

Quoted from nitroman28:

That's how i had to do the volume in Metallica. I like having the headphone jack and knob but the toggle was the only option for SAM games. But yea you can still buy those. https://www.pinballlife.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PBL-100-0062-00
Pinball Life is my go to for just about everything. They sell a cheaper shaker motor that works great.

The keyless lock from pinballlife is a cheap $5 alternative to external volume control. Slightly more work to adjust volume, obviously not a good choice with young children.

Quoted from jtaudio:

ALWAYS down in a truck unless you have several together. My friend's TMNT LE fell off the distributor's delivery truck because they stood it up alone. Amazingly, little damage for 60 MPH on the highway. Stern packs them well!

WHOA, that just made me cringe, especially an LE

#2721 3 years ago

My nephew came over to get raffle tickets for out atv club 30 min ago and saw TMNT. he's hooked. 30 games in

anyone else find it interesting that the trough eject power can now be set lower. I think 176 was base now 150, just set mine to 150 ball comes out nice and gentle.

Edit wouldn't load trough when 3 balls were on playfield, 160 seems good

#2959 3 years ago
Quoted from Rob_G:

On my LE, I still can't set it below 176. Has anyone else with an LE/Pre tried to change this?
From my experience with EHOH, 160 is about right.
Rob

Are you on 1.21 code?

Looking for insight from long time owners.
I bought TMNT Pro in July, sold early September.
Has the code improved vastly since September? (I know I could read the files but im lazy some times)
Im leaning towards getting one again just looking for your opinions.
Reason I sold was I felt the scoring was just off.

Back in the club. I feel like I bailed out before code was far enough along. Insider Connect kit on hand but not in a rush to install. Cliffys on order.

Quoted from KingVidiot:

Insider has the most dramatic effect on gameplay for TMNT vs any other stern. The fact that your turtles’ levels get saved to your account is game-changing, and the kind of thing I hope we see more of. I’d highly advise installing it.

Insider is now installed just can't get wifi to work but have it on a cat6 temporarily. (waiting for stern to respond) I'm only 30 plays in to the NIB game, still finding shots.

#8727 1 year ago

I'm struggling with hitting the "center?" Donatello ramp on fast orbit shots but just put down a 97M point game. So happy I added this back to the game room.

Building up my training is my next mission.

I thoroughly enjoy this machine.

#8729 1 year ago
Quoted from TeamUp:

I keep the upper flipper up while the ball is flying around the orbit and then just do a quick baby flip when it get close. I've been hitting the krang combos and center ramp like crazy with that technique! Took just a little practice with it and now it's like butter!

Thank you I will try that out.

#8740 1 year ago

After 50 plays on my pro I'm finding that my pizza lock, is not registering and locking a ball, it's an open shot through the parlor about 70% of the time usually registers on 4th shot. What's odd is after the ball exits into the orbit I can hear what sounds like the up post cycling.

I saw the pinned key post about upper flipper coil with poor solder joints, anything else common before I dive in?

#8752 1 year ago
Quoted from mpdpvdpin:

Had this same problem. Replace stock balls with non magnetizing carbon balls.

Found the issue the up post is not centered in hole, causing it to bind and stay down intermittently.

#8754 1 year ago
Quoted from ticktockman:

Mine did the same thing. Just manually bent it back to center and all was good.

Bracket looked fine to me, had a factory looking bend down by the coil. I think it was installed slightly off center. I opened up the 3 holes in bracket where it screws to playfield.

Quoted from AntennaMan:

Were you at Fenway?

Its a small river bar in Wisconsin out of respect for Borg I won't say the town or river. But he was so awesome to chat with. We talked for at least 2 hours, Great guy.

#8925 1 year ago
Quoted from AntennaMan:

So close. I saw all the run down green and concrete and figured you might be in Boston.

We were at my fav bar which happens to be where I met my better half. Her uncle owns it. It is run down water logged and smells like a river but we love it.

#8930 1 year ago
Quoted from Mr_H:

That is awesome! What a moment that would have been!
Any alpha on TMNT that he dropped? Did he mention Dwight being locked away working hard on a code update?
With Stern only making 1 cornerstone this year, I'm quietly hoping Dwight is working on a code update that includes rescoring.

No info about TMNT, he did show me some of the white wood/prototype work he did on TMNT, Munsters, and Rush. Also talked about the Rush scoop that was fun.

#8948 1 year ago
Quoted from RVApinballer:

Tell him thanks for making TMNT. Personally I think it was really well done playfield wise. The pro is a really fun shooter.
Admittedly I wish the side ramp was easier to hit for faster moving combos but everything can’t be perfect always haha.

I will , I'm sure I will see him again. Seriously a down to earth guy with a passion for pinball.

#8950 1 year ago

I struggle to admit I bailed on my first machine had it within a month of reveal. I absolutely love this machine.

#8961 1 year ago
Quoted from madamyates:

Been noticing that the ball isn’t getting stopped after plunge for the jet lane skill shot. It just shoots all the way around every time. Anyone else have this happen?

Check the alignment of the up post. Mine was binding for the turtle van lock. had to oblong the bracket holes to center it.

#8995 1 year ago
Quoted from Drussksu:

Got my turtles in the basement. My high score so far is 32 mil with Rafael. Any advantages to picking other turtles to try for a high score??

Sounds Like you have the same skill set as me. Even on 5 ball Im stuck at 50m.
My go to is Raph as well. I have insider so that helps a bit with storing my training at level 4.

#9007 1 year ago
Quoted from Thunderbird:

Can someone check to see if the pizza slice LED light insert and add time LED light insert stay on when all the other lights go out? Mine stay on, not fully lit, but always on. Maybe they’ve always done that and I never noticed?
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Without searching the thread I think I remember this was an issue with a playfield connection not fully seated.

#9045 1 year ago
Quoted from ticktockman:

So my glider servo is dead. Looking back on the thread, someone suggested getting servo HS-645MG from ServoCity and have them reverse the direction from clockwise to counter-clockwise. I just called them and they said they no longer offer that service.
Anyone have a recommendation of any other servos that will work on the glider? I don't want to replace the whole $300 mechanism if I just have to swap out a $30 servo.

Post that question in the Everything RC thread. It's been a while for me since I've dug into rc servos but someone there should know.

Quoted from JayLar:

After some of the later software updates I can no longer reset a game holding the left flipper button and the start button. Can someone please confirm if this is a general issue?

I have current code on mine and the Left flipper start hold reset works. Id bet its turned off as stated above

Looks like Stern is discontinuing TMNT. Seems a little early and i can’t imagine it was a difficult license to manage like Led Zeppelin.

Value potentially going up on our games I'm ok with that.
