Super jealous of all these homes, locations, and LE owners out there. LE looks a lot better than I thought it would. Cmon Stern, let's get those Pros for people without locations or a hookup going again!
Scanned the thread but has anyone heard anything g specific on Prem/Pro hitting the lines again? Was supposed to be pros going out this week but I’m doubtful seeing as LE’s are still being delivered.
Quoted from freddy:Haven’t opened it yet
Get off pinside then!
But seriously great to see the next round of pro's in the wild. Eagerly awaiting a call from my distributor!
Quoted from mahony:Just received my shipping notification and tracking number for TMNT PRO this morning. I ordered mine on July 23rd. Tracking info has not updated. I'm guessing it drop shipped from Stern in IL. Now I just have to wait the week for it to reach me in California.
Ordered June 2, not a peep. Guess I picked the wrong distributor... Looking forward to seeing pics of everyone else's here on the sideline.
I've noticed two things on 1.11, wondering if anyone else is seeing these as well:
- When missing the skill shot, the audio sounds blown out/clipping.
- On some modes/screens, my screen looks like it has a few dead/stuck green pixels. It's not all the time or on all the screens, so I don't think I actually have dead pixels, but I'm not sure if it's in the software or not.
Quoted from Rob_G:I have seen this too on my game and it looks like green stuck pixels on the lair graphic. On other screens they may look like white dots. I was almost convinced it was my LCD, but now I am not so sure. Sometimes the dots are there, sometimes not. Always in the same place.
Rob
Thanks for taking the picture -- I was having issues seeing the dots in the photos I took. But mine are in the exact same spots. Hopefully something they can look in to.
Quoted from Chalkey:Anybody else having their speakers occasionally get all crackly, but just for the duration of a callout?
Yes, this and the random green dots on the screen are my last two issues to nail down (other than me being pretty terrible at the game, still)
Quoted from shaub:How are post passes working for everyone?
L to R difficult, but doable with a slight delay
R to L, much easier.
Well, I certainly didn't have Music Player in the "what's next" list.
Excited to see how the scoring changes play out.
Did a quick game after the code update:
As noted, the rando-dots on the screen (dead pixels) are gone. Nice!
Bonus scores are right again and can be matched, instead of the rando 1's digit for each ball played.
Didn't complete any modes, so can't comment on scoring. Side effect of being terrible -- sorry.
Speakers didn't clip on the pro skill shot Splinter commentary. Seems like they got pushed way down in the mix. More testing needed.
Quoted from zeldarioid:As far as jackpots for the TPMB, I know the Lair is one, but not sure if the center loop/ramp are available there, as well. In fact, I'm entirely unsure of what the hell is going on in TPMB in general! Very confused by that MB.
I'll take a swing at it.
TPMB lights all the turtle shots (same as their skill shots, arrows indicated by turtle color) and some green shots for Jackpots. 4 collected shots (I think) lights the inner loop for super. Triple Super/Mondo is then lit at the Lair shot. Collecting all 4 turtle shots and then hitting right ramp will add a ball -- infinitely, I think. I've added 2-3 balls this way in a single MB.
Quoted from DaddyManD:Just got my Pro yesterday and we LOVE it! One major problem that happened twice already. The balls lock behind the van and the white post pulses too fast and won't allow the balls to drop down through. The machine then displays MALFUNCTION. Shut off machine and back on and the ball search goes on but same problem. Have to manually push down the white post with my finger to release the balls. ANyone else have this issue? I contacted Stern and distributor. Saw someone on YouTube with same problem.
I had this exact same issue. Swapping out the stock pinballs that came with it (that ended up being magentized) were the issue.
Welcome to the club! You're gonna love it and I hope you have room for your next few pins -- they tend to multiply quick
Quoted from Vermont:- I have watched the Stern setup video and plan on using that to help me go through the setup process. Is there anything fundamental missing there?
I think the video (and the attached sheet) is pretty good about telling you what you need to know. Take your time and it'll be fine!
Quoted from Vermont:- I will order a replacement set of pinballs for when the initial ones magnetize - this seems to be a consistent issue for this pin.
Order em now -- assume your pinballs will be shot from the get go -- mine went to hell the first night. Make sure you wipe down the balls before putting them in the machine -- they ship oiled, and you don't want the oil in there.
Quoted from Vermont:- I do not plan to put down a protector, but I am curious if I need to wax right away or if that can wait a bit?
Nah, you won't need to wax/clean until you start seeing dirt. Wouldn't worry about that.
Quoted from Vermont:- It seems there is one custom piece for the ramp that people suggest I get to avoid one issue; is there anything else like that that I should definitely get right away?
I don't know if there's a purchasable piece for this yet, but this thread has some examples of what folks have done. You can do this at any time so I wouldn't worry about it. I've noticed the flipper rubber on my upper flipper getting rough (probably from getting whacked at the tip from the right flipper), so if you're buying balls, maybe have some extra flipper rubbers on hand.
Quoted from Vermont:- I may get the Stern headphone jack attachment to help keep my wife happier. Is there any downside to that?
I haven't had any issues -- I picked up the pinnovators kit that has master and headphone audio control on the outside of the pin and a mute switch. If you don't need those features, pinball life and stern ones should be fine.
Quoted from Vermont:- I will have the pin in a room with carpet. How much an issue is static electricity when working on the pin? Is grounding via a metal portion of the frame sufficient? (I do some work on PC repair and I've learned some hard lessons on this front.)
Standard rules apply, but most of your sensitive electronics are in the backbox. Mine are in a carpeted room too and I just touch ground and minimize static electricity on my person. I think you'll be fine.
Quoted from Vermont:- There appears to be a code update that pulls in graphics from the original show, but isn't "official." Should I hold off on anything like that at first?
My suggestion would be to buy an additional class 10 SD card and follow the instructions on that thread about installing that code on its own card. You can swap back and forth by just replacing the card. No issues there.
