Does anyone with a Pro have issues with bounce outs at the pizza parlor (center captive ball where you start episodes)?

If I have a ball or two locked, anything but a very soft shot will immediately bounce out. No issues if there’s no ball locked, so I’m sure it’s a “Newton’s Cradle” effect. My Star Wars Pro had a similar issue on the Hoth shot at times.

Before I tear the top side of the game apart, has anyone managed to fix this issue? Or does anyone even HAVE this issue?

Apologies if this has been discussed... I’ve been blazing through this thread, but it’s pretty big!

I had it at 7 degrees, but lowered it to 6.5 and it still seems to bounce out. Slow shots are OK, but clean, direct shots from the right flipper bounce out. I could lower the flipper strength to compensate, but then I'd have left ramp issues.

Star Wars had on-again-off-again issues with bounce outs with code updates, but that was due to the extra post they put in to stop bounce outs and its timing being tweaked verserion-to-version.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I hope I don't have to stuff something into the u-turn to slow the balls down, but I don't see much other option. I'm surprised I seem to be the only one with this issue!

Ah! I noticed the disc was very slightly not level, but didn’t have any other issues from it so I’ve left it alone thus far. It makes sense the disc could be causing issues. I’ll check it out.

I played with the pizza disc and it didn't have an effect.

I reached out to my distributor and he's checking with Stern. If that comes up empty I'll rip the left ramp off and try either bending the rails a bit to try to keep the balls from bouncing straight into each other.

Thanks, I'm thinking "roughing up" the outer metal rail a bit with tape or foam might help? I'm waiting to hear if Stern has anything to say before I dig in. The area has a plastic covering it, so it'll be tight if I don't rip everything off.

Welcome to the club! We just joined too. We sold our SW Pro for TMNT, which I'm still not sure was a great idea. I might end up with a comic SW someday.

Ours played great, too. Everything comes back to the flippers instantaneously and predictably. It keeps you on your toes, like an F-14 running at 2x speed. I don't even care if I have a bad game when I get to listen to stuff like "Into the garbage chute, fly boy!"

We really just ran out of space, and with a lineup full of our favorite games, [i]something[/i] had to go! Maybe next time we'll get a Premium.
