Should have it in upright position not lying down.[quoted image]

ALWAYS down in a truck unless you have several together. My friend's TMNT LE fell off the distributor's delivery truck because they stood it up alone. Amazingly, little damage for 60 MPH on the highway. Stern packs them well!

WHOA, that just made me cringe, especially an LE

What happened to the code drop?

#2704 3 years ago
Quoted from mbrave77:

man I wish my wife were into pinball. Congrats! My wife hates it and doesnt understand why I need more than one 9 thousand dollar toy!

The only way this works is with a wife that is fully on board. It's always been our escape room. Now more than ever. She's picked out the last several games. She married me, but has great taste in pins.

You also notice how the word TOP is turned sideways? That's because its the topside of the machine. Which tells me he has the Truck side down.

I was wondering the same thing. How did people know there was one supposedly coming today? Did Xaqery say it was coming?

Quoted from Yoko2una:

You know, my son loved playing Donatello for that very reason. But you can also get into Ninja Pizza MB very easy with the only shot "up the middle" in the game. Once he learned that, Raph became the TMNT of choice because now he can get into a mode much easier and then with 1 ball locked. With Don you got to get into Foot 1-2-3 (no shot feeds it, so you just have to sort of flail and nudge) and then hit the right ramp if you don't want to start TP MB right away, so because that's a must in our strategy, Don's now the hardest TMNT for us to start with. I can totally see why kiddos like the TP MB off the bat though.

Yep, you are right. It's just a really little ones I have played Donatello. The older kids usually choose Raphael.

Could someone please check something for me? I took a lot of parts off to put protective washers under the ball guides, and I have a slight conundrum putting things back together. Upper left side under the orange flasher, there are three standoffs. Two taller, one shorter. I took a picture in disassembly, but it just seems "not right" to me. Is it correct that the short one is front right, which would put that plastic at a pretty steep angle to the front (I imagine to prevent ball hangups). The weird part is that the front left standup doesn't actually connect to anything, it just pushes up on the underside of the plastic. Is this right?

Just looking at mine the bottom are all the same size. They 3 top for the clear plastic are 7/8.

For the three standoffs that support the clear glider base? I have the same there.

But for this area on the left side, you have 3x 3/4"?

#2714 3 years ago

Ah, I think I see what you mean- looks like on the pro there is another clear piece on top there due to the different wireform shape. In fact, looks like that's what the extra unused standoff is for. It appears they had a ton of trouble during development with hangups here, and I think they did intentionally move to a shorter standoff in the front to angle the plastic on the prem/LE. If you look at their press photos, that front screw is a flathead. Not sure why they didn't just carry that forward to production.

#2715 3 years ago

This game is totally radical!

Didn't notice yours was an LE. Pro still has the plastic you're talking about. Has 06 on it? which I cant find in the manual. But all 3 of those hex post are the same size.

Where did you hear this information? I did not see any new code

#2718 3 years ago

I got lucky, the playfield on my premium is good. August 14th build date. Playfield date is July 30. Has art under starpost with washer. No pooling that I can see. Now its time to put on the playfield protector.

#2719 3 years ago

I switched out the red t-molding on my Premium to green. I used this: https://www.t-molding.com/3-4in-bright-green-t-molding.html - 20' is enough to do both sides and gives enough left over to re-do one side if you mess up.

I did keep the original red molding, lays nicely in the bottom of the cab.

Neon green is the correct color for this pin's t-molding. Red just looks wrong.

Joining the club with a pro version. All seems to be good with the game out of the box. Put high end glass, better balls, green flipper bands.

Premium reporting in, and all appears well! Had some software bugs it seemed in the first couple of games (didn't register that TPMB had ended, didn't properly register that P1 had ended and switched to P2, that sort of thing), but have played for a while since and haven't noticed those issues yet again.

Playfield was built 6/29/2020, game was assembled 8/12/2020. Full art beneath star post in left outlane, with washer beneath. No pooling to note. No streaky/grainy "inkjet" artwork. I haven't taken the PF apart to look at the rail behind the van, but looking through the glass, I don't see any wear or scratches, whether before or after playing all evening. Glider, pizza, and van all seem to be functioning properly. I don't hear any grinding from the pizza, though I do have other sounds going in the arcade (the other pinball machines, the Arcade1Up cabinets, the TV playing the 90s X-Men or 80s TMNT, a barcade playlist, etc.), so it's possible that it's making the noise and we just can't hear it yet.

This game is fast and mean, and the scores feel depressingly low (whether you do "well" or not), but we're having a blast with it, and really look forward to learning the ruleset and how this table plays. I'm definitely in the camp of "I hope the scores get adjusted to feel more rewarding," but to be fair, I am comparing against Star Wars and Jurassic Park, which have much higher scoring than this game. The high thus far tonight is a 13m game, with a few 4-8m games peppered in, but the majority are probably sub-1, which...well, we don't know how to handle the speed and penalties for bricking on this table yet

A fantastic addition to the collection, which is growing at an alarming rate, with no signs of slowing down!

I actually like the Red. In the original photos I thought it was a purple/pink color like the ooze so was surprised to see red when I unboxed mine. But I think its a nice call out to the original comics where they all started with red bandanas.

I was more talking about visual continuity on the machine itself. If you really want to nerd-out, red is picking a turtle. Green is turtle-neutral.

Got my premium today. Art is great. No flaws.

The spinning pizza is making a loud grinding noise. What oil do I need to but to fix this?

Stern recommended “3-in-1“ brand lubricant - or something similar to it.

I agree scoring seems extremely low.

Also, the pizza mech is trash. Shouldn't have to oil that thing fresh out the box. You can't tell me the white wood and all the pre release testing didn't reveal how noisy and clunky that mech is. It is what I would expect on a Chinese knockoff.

Every spinning disc in JJPOTC I’ve heard is louder than the one in my TMNT.

It’s pinball, it’s going to come broken in the box from every manufacturer.

I think Dwight copped a little flack after star wars for blowing out scores with multipliers so he pulled it back on munsters... a step in the wrong direction I think. Lyman seems to have the scoring balanced perfectly. If your a good player you get rewarded with huge scores.
Dwight has course corrected way too far. If i want to play a low scoring game i just fire up a JJP game. Some juicy and lucrative scoring and crazy multipliers is what I like about dwights coding... this low scoring stuff just pisses me off c'mon dwight sort it.

Isn't scoring all relative? Good games are going to score higher than bad games, whether that's a good 25bil on AFM or a good 1mil on WOZ.

Definitely. Good point. Its just the feeling of getting some big jackpots and seeing all that money roll over to your score... at present its missing on this game. Never really been a fan of low scoring games... all in the mind I know... but still. I guess its personal taste too.

You just have to get used to it... or imagine an extra '0' at the end of all the scores. It does get you to realize how important a 2mil April hurry up, or a 2.5mil Super Jackpot is in the game.

it seems to depend on the build. My pizza is ULTRA silent. Never had any issues.

New premium owner here, so far a couple standing issues:

1) When loading balls into the van, sometimes the door partially opens. When this happens it seems like the game loses track of the numbers of balls in there and occasionally it can't even open the door when turtle power multiball starts

2) My glider "twitches" as in it is constantly moving, I ran the adjustment to center it after it trapped a ball unexpectedly mid-game and that seems to have allowed me to play it, but I feel like it shouldn't be wiggling.

Playfield comments:

It looks like I have a later print, I do not have art under my posts. There are a few spots where I can definitely see lines like a cheap inkjet with a clogged nozzle. Overall I would say that the artwork looks "fuzzy" compared to my JP Pro

Stern sets the default shooter eject power at "destroy my shooter lane". It's the first thing I do every new Stern and check after updating.

Which setting is this exactly in the service menus? I found one that I thought was it, and it was set to a number (260 I believe), what did you end up setting it at? Or am I looking at the wrong setting?

I’ll find it and get you a number when I get home if no one gets one to you by then.

I forget where I found it, but I cranked it down to the min power available. Still gets the job done. Also turned down the BG brightness to the lowest level without going off when in gameplay. That, in a dark room, plus a Bent Plastic DMD glare guard to block the LCD is the closest thing you can get to invisiglass without actually taking the plunge.

I'm interested in this as well. It does seem the ball gets shot out of a cannon when it loads it up to the shooter lane when you start a game.

Got my premium yesterday. Playfield is great, no pooling or print issues. Pizza spinning disc was making the awful grinding noise as many of you have reported as well. Added a couple drops of 3-in-1 oil as recommended by STERN and it made a huge improvement immediately. Disc still makes some noise but it's at least tolerable now - on par with my TRON anyway. Adding the oil took about 5 minutes - I removed the four little screws to the assembly and dropped the whole thing down. I didn't want any oil dripping on any of the node boards so I wanted to makes sure it was applied properly and could coat the surfaces without dripping onto something it shouldn't... Easy fix, but it would have been nice if this was done before shipping.

Is there a key post in the index here on how to do this?

Here is my playfield, taken with a Sony A6400 with a 35mm/f1.8 lens, the fuzzyness I can live with as when I am standing and playing the game I don't really notice. However, the lines I can see, and I'm sure over time I'll get over it but I would call it a drop in quality compared to my JP Pro.

QUESTION: Where in the diagnostics menu is the ability to test the Pizza spin motor? Figured it would be in the game specific diagnostics but all I see is the Glider / Diverter test.
