Quoted from zeagle:

Dumb question here but I'm still waiting for my premium and it will be my first pinball machine. When you install the latest code does that install all the previous code updates as well or do you have to install every new code (if that makes sense)?

The current code update is a rollup that has all prior updates already, so you just need to install each latest version as they come out.

Finally entered the NIB club yesterday. Shout out to Trent @ Tilt Amusements who not only was great to work with, but he also sent my son a little goodie package since this NIB TMNT was a cheer-him-up purchase. That was really cool.

Some notes:

- Game was dialed in pretty well right out of the box. Right ramp to left orbit feeds upper flipper well. Rail to upper flipper is inline w/o gap. LAIR shot is of course impossible from the forehand, but the angled rail guide behind the LAIR target is bent and installed properly.
- I went over the PF and no pooling seen yet thankfully! However, like some other reports, I do question the PF art as it certainly seems grainy in some places... but compared to those with giant pools around the aprons and whatnot, I can't complain.
- First attempt at installing 1.11 today said it was successful, but on reboot, it showed the TMNT logo and then the blank DMD image like in Settings. Then it rebooted and did this over and over. I reinstalled on the other USB port and it worked fine.
- Had a few airballs to drain from the right wireform (center ramp) where the ball flew off the wireform, over the inlane guide and into the outlane drain. Anyone working on a mod for this like the left wireform?

Questions:

1) Does the TURTLE POWER insert stay on at all times, and only flash when MB is ready? Mine is acting this way.
2) Is the Technodrome plastic at the left tamp supposed to sit on the corner of the Van to act as a funnel preventing a ball trap? The plastic seems to be bending because of the Van right where you can see "-35" on the Technodrome plastic in the picture below
3) Is there a way as Donatello to get a mode before starting Turtle Power MB?

Classic Game Rooms?

So far they've been great. All of my questions were answered quickly. They set the expectation upon payment of 10-14 days before it would ship and it shipped on the 10th day. So far no complaints at all. They emailed me on the 10th day, I didn't even have to ask for a tracking number.

Quoted from Yoko2una:

3) Is there a way as Donatello to get a mode before starting Turtle Power MB?

A friend pointed out to me all you need to do is get into 123 foot and that will allow you to start an episode but not the multiball.

So I don't see any issues after initial review. Here is that star post. Can't tell if a washer is under our not. Looks like yes?

Looks like they changed the printing too. Older runs have art underneath the post.

Looks like a plastic washer. Mine is metal but you definitely have something to stop the Star edges from digging in. Art has definitely changed too unless le and pro are different

You're right. I went back to see others with issues and that starpost doesn't look like mine.

Stern is def reading these forums b/c they changed it ala JP2. Good to see. Hopefully no other issues.

My born date was 7/30

Looks good! Looks like a rounded bottom fused to the star pattern. Probably a plastic washer?

Pro to be delivered next Tuesday from Charlotte. So excite!!!

Definitely changed the playfield so there is no art under that post. You think they would have learned their lesson when they changed the art on JP.

There is no plastic washer under there.

#1961 3 years ago

Amazing they can change the PF art so quickly. Digital printing in house?

Does anyone have any idea whos making Stern Pf's now?

Quoted from cooked71:

Stern makes the playfields then sends them to various vendors for art and clear.

Quoted from billrz:

Backhanding it from the left flipper from a slight roll works really good. It’s a tricky shot,I don’t even try to forehand it anymore ,but if you do it’s essential to let down the upper flipper to trap it in there, it’s very difficult timing, but very possible!! Anybody’s pizza stop grinding with the new update ? Or is this just wishful thinking,I could swear mine has slowed down and stopped grinding after installing new code, but is that the case? Or just a matter of time before it starts grinding again?

Thanks. So I think I used to do the same thing with the Bayou hole in JJP pirates. So if I cradle with left flipper then Release flipper to let it start to roll down say 1/4 of an inch or so down flipper and then flip to backflip it behind top left flipper? Just not sure what the rolling bit means compared to a normal back flip. Have I got the technique right or am I missing something?

If this is the way to do it then not too hard.

#1964 3 years ago

It's interesting because it looks like they've gone back and forth on this. The original press photos have the large keepout with a small post, then the initial pro + LE have small keepout with a large post (causing the issues). I imagine there was a healthy internal debate about what % of left side drains was acceptable

Quoted from lodgingdolphin:

Krang added to pro along with my temporary topper.

Looks good... I grabbed a Krang also and I’m glad I did. I’m thinking of adding a led inside but not sure it’s going to fit. I’m not sure where/what to connect it to.

Glider assembly replacement went fine. Updated code. Removed the balls, left the turtle van balls in, lifted play field and disconnected 3 plugs for assembly. Removed the front habitrails, unscrewed the 3 screws holding in the glider assembly. Fished the old wires out, they are curled into the lower pop plastic I had some difficulty fishing the wires so I removed the plastic, be careful there is a spacer under the larger screw, if you have a lighter touch I'm sure its possible fish the old wires out and new wires in without removing the plastic. Slid the new glider in and did everything in reverse. Everything worked fine on my first game. Thanks again to Stern for being responsive and getting me this new assembly, Ill play around with the old servo and see if I can find equiv part to have a spare glider setup now if this happens again.

#1968 3 years ago

Thanks!

btw - I cant wait to get rid of that music which plays when you're about to plunge. Like a bad porno.

TMNT 2 theme yes
vanilla ice - yes
TMMT 1 1st level - somehow

#1969 3 years ago

Hopefully the one I’m getting delivered on Saturday is a newer build, but unfortunately I doubt it..

#1970 3 years ago

Anyone having issues in team up where lights go out for a few seconds completely then come back on? Starting to see more misses by glider diverter and slower animations/recognition of collecting Krang value on side ramp. Sometimes it just feels like the animations and recognition of shots are just too laggy. Anyone else?

#1971 3 years ago

Where are you guys getting a Krang from?

#1972 3 years ago

shhhhhhhh - the impossible was achieved......in about 10 min.

That horrendous theme imitation will be corrected soon. cheers

#1973 3 years ago

Make it for the LE too please! That’s the sh*t I grew up with every Saturday morning. It’s like when fat panda added the 90s xmen song and sounds. Love it!

putting the character select music from original arcade into the character select music for the pinball? yes please.

boss music (rocksteady - say your prayers turtles) - going in too.

I have all the music I was looking for. Time to make it happen. Will update.

#1976 3 years ago

The ball drop in the left orbit (LE/Pre) should probably have mylar there. I'm going to add some.

Taste of things to come! Character select music from the arcade is in but most importantly, the original theme song is now in the game! That's really all I wanted but I'll end up putting some additional classic songs from the arcade and NES. I'll make the music a little louder in the next version.

Thank you pinbrowser for working with this game. '

Edit- just uploaded so will take a little before 4k.

2nd video theme only.

Today i made it to the Final Battle on ball 2. I beat phase one and I drained on phase two. I can not understand why I wasn't able to continue the wizard mode with ball 3. The game just resets all episodes and you start over again. This feels not right or rewarding. I even had one ball left. I got nearly no extra points for reaching the wizard mode, just about 2.5 million- thats a good pizza eating contest with 2x. Also some kind of advantage when you make it through all episodes would be nice- like on Deadpool a constant 2x or maybe enhancing 123/april/liar points. Just something that makes you feel really good about reaching that goal, and makes you fear to loose that last ball where the big points are.

Do you have plans for improving any of this already? Thanks for listening, I'm really enjoying the game!
Bug found: Sometimes the start button causes a two player game, also seen on jack danger streams.

I'm in too, I also will add a pink LED. I guess best choice are those small ones
ebay.com link: verkabelt sehr helle LEDs 5mm rund wasserklar verschiedene Farben 20cm Kabel LED

I do not know where the Premiums Krangs are connected, would be nice if someone could take a look for us.
If not ill just connect it to the red LED of the Krang insert, because this is the one whats not constantly on, it just flashes when hitting the center orbit or ramp.

How important is it to replace the factory pinballs?

#1983 3 years ago
Quoted from CPanther95:

How important is it to replace the factory pinballs?

People say they are trash but the last two nib pins I bought I just inspected them, cleaned and waxed them and they have been good. No issues in the either pin.

Look up "NECA Krang" on Amazon or eBay. It comes with Shredder. About $60-80 for the pair.

I opted not to go with the NECA version and went with the OG version (used on eBay) because I wanted the figure back that I apparently lost from childhood.

I really like the powder! Might want to change the tmolding to match though but looks very nice.

Now you have me thinking! Already have my shadow being done right now haha

@ Swoods5688 - Powder coat looks good !

#1990 3 years ago

Who here can powder coat the either the coin door, the shooter plate, or both to match the LE green everywhere else like I'm seeing in some of these pictures?

Thanks,
Jeff

Is there a super skill shot in the game? Holding the left flipper on plunge and hitting Krang or center ramp gives like 200 points. My son got more points on a standard plunge that bounced back down the right orbit, spun the spinner a few times got like 1000 points. Seems weird.

Also the Pro light show is legit!

I think I agree with some of your points and I am considering the rest. Today you get a bonus at the start of Final Battle for all the episodes. You get 100K for not completing them but if you complete them you get an increasing amount of points per episode completed Starting at 250K. It currently looks like this:

FB_BonusToday (resized).jpgFB_BonusToday (resized).jpg

As you can see the number of wins goes from 800K to 5.5M. When I first thought about those numbers that seemed good. But now I think I agree. Its really hard for me to win more than 3 episodes on the really rare times I get to Final Battle.

I am thinking about these numbers:

FB_BonusFuture (resized).jpgFB_BonusFuture (resized).jpg

Now 3 wins would be 5M which is ok. But all 8 is 25M!

I built a setup to do it myself, I have probably done 10 or more of my games now. The hardest part was an oven that would get hot enough and be large enough but not break the bank. I used some creative engineering and built one out of 2 electric smokers and some special furnace insulation and it works great.

What colors did you use? I'm thinking about ILLUSION SOUR APPLE and BABY ROCKSTAR SPARKLE.

Does Stern make Slot machines? Hate the slot machines sounds they used on Turtles. They did the same with GB.
