Quoted from BENETNATH:

Jjp's quality is maybe the reason of the higher cost...
When I compare my deadpool and turtle to my woz and dialed in, the quality level is no way to discuss... Stern is making disposable toys

Careful. My last JJP had it’s glass off once a week. And it needed a replacement playfield.

The grass is not greener.

All of these manufacturers need to step up.

Let’s keep this thread about Turtles.

#1652 3 years ago

Agree, bad things happens in all manufacturers.

For now, all i can say is that Turtle is a really good shot, but that's by far the most brutal pin in my collection.
I enjoy that, but it's not as family friendly as i was hoping.
The metal bar separating the two left inlanes keeps poping my ball to the outlane, I may end with a small tweak to solve that but not yet sure about the best way..

I totally disagree with you. Had a Wonka on loan and have a Dialed in, The build quality is no better or worse than Stern. The only player who is absolutely better quality is CGC.

I Am pretty bad at pinball but love playing it. Most of our pins I sell because they are too hard For us. Star Wars pro was probably one of the worst experiences I had in pinball with it being too hard. I love Star Wars so really bummed. Tmnt plays smooth and fun like JP. Once you start hitting some shots and get the hang of it then it’s a blast. We played as a 4 player coop family last night and got 26M. Some games we get 2 or 3 M. JP I find we can play decent as well and enjoy it the flow on that one too. If my brother didn’t have JP we would own one

Side note - My kids are 5 and 7. The 5 year old has had 5M game before and My 7 has hit 7M. Nothing crazy but the play for a while. You also need to make sure it’s setup well is the left out lane can be thirsty.

#1656 3 years ago

The left outlane can be a bear. Same setup as guardians as far as I can tell however you can at least see this outlane unlike guardians. I agree it’s a harder game in the beginning but once you get the hang of it, it gets more and more fun. The multiballs are pretty achievable early especially if you pick certain turtles. I actually struggle most with the right ramp. Feels very late on my machine. I ordered a digital level that comes in today to make sure I have my machine setup right.

GotG and TMNT have the same but different left outlane setups. TMNT has a post above the metal "M" which helps but is missing the adjustable post in the top left of the outlane. I'm fine with it as long as I can figure out how to not have the lair empty into the outlane.

I had the lair do it once out of probably hundreds of times. You can buy thicker rubbers for the posts too that might help

#1659 3 years ago

Are there shooter lane guards available for this yet?

Quoted from JodyG:

Presumably early pro playfields were made before COVID. TMNT was set to drop back in March, IIRC. They had a few extra months to cure, or were clear coated before heat and humidity set in.

True, but there are more issues with the LEs than just the pooling.

How are owners feeling about this game long term as far as depth? Looking at tmnt and jp2 as my next game but want one that’s going to be challenging long term. Opinions on pro vs premium on tmnt also?

#1666 3 years ago

No joke, after playing TMNT I put over a billion points on my white water. TMNT is a difficult machine, but in a good way. I still haven't gotten to the final battle on a single player game. It definitely has the "just one more game" feeling to it. Depth-wise, feels like it's missing something. I'm not sure what though.

#1667 3 years ago

JP vs Tmnt, I own both LE, I say JP all day.
But..... I’ll revisit this after I put more time into tmnt.
I feel like it won’t be half as deep as JP,

As far as the Glider Mech, I don’t know how well Prems and LE will do on site,
My mech blew second day.

If you are having issues with the lair put a ball save timer on just so you don’t lose your ball

Lol, is that really a game setting for Borg bounces??? He should just drop the rail between the two inlanes more to prevent the shit kicks.

I think JP has more depth but at my skill level I might not ever be solid enough to see it all. TMNT is a little more straight forward. There is such variety in what to shoot for, it will take time to identify what to do and if there is anything to avoid. I am about 100 or so games in on TMNT and loving it. It has Iron Man speed and difficulty, with GoT depth. I think both games are winners. I prefer the more kid friendly TMNT with easier Multiballs and rules and added co-op over JP (JP is jut a little less attractive to look at and have as furniture in your house.)

I wouldn't call TMNT 'brutal', that is a designation I save for JP because of the tight shots.

I have yet to have an outlane bounce from the lair release. What pitch do you have your game set at?

Rob

I've increased my pitch, around 7.5. That helped a lot for the global flow and did not impact my outlanes drains.

It's getting better eaveryday, but the targets on the left ramps are really nasty. It reminds me a bit of the valinor shot on LOTR. a strong shot at it, and blam, directly in the outlane without any way to nudge..

The upper flipper shots add an element of extra challenge with the game. I'm happy to see Dwight added individual difficulty settings for each mission. If you think one is too easy, make it harder. I have not tried that yet though

I don't know how you measure the pitch, but I have mine around 6.9. I changed the flipper strength to 'soft' which really isn't that soft, but tones them down just a little bit which I find great!

Not really, it’s only for the slow drop out of the lair. It’s similar to other pins that have a shot coming out of a stall area that could drain like GB coming out of the subway you can set a timer just Incase it doesn’t come out right and drains Instantly

#1677 3 years ago

Yes, soft flippers is better in my feeling.
On pro, is there a plastic protection over the opto of the center ramp?
Fast shot get airballed there.

My CGC MBRLE is top of the line quality.

So was AFMRLE

JJP no better than Stern and I’d say not as good reliability wise

Any other users reporting air ball or opto not catching the flying ball in the center ramp?
I'll play during the coming weekend and confirm if that's a good fix.

Quoted from Pinball-NJA:

Has anyone noticed the Launch from the ramp to the guide rail in the orbit is too strong, and not being guided down to the upper flipper properly?

It's because the ball is literally being dropped off the ramp... and has no space/path to settle it along the guide rail. It's an artifact of the design not to drop the ball before the orbit turn - which would have served to guide the ball to the rail. Even if the ball dropped off limp.. you'd still get randomness.

It really makes the upper flipper shot a lot harder...

Game is very fun! I want to give a BIG shout out to Marshall @ LSOG. Thanks for the great service and constant communication.I wish all distributors would keep their clients in the loop like you do! A+ service!!!

It really makes the upper flipper shot a lot harder...

I had the same problem with the ball coming off the ramp and not making it smoothly to the upper flipper until I made some ramp adjustments. Much much better now and goes to the flipper every time. That plastic ramp that exits in the left orbit is attached to two post mounts, one near the exit and the other over on the right hand side of the playfield. Loosen each attachment area and make sure the ramp is shifted as far left as it can go and lock them back down. If this still doesn't work and you still get random ball travel off that ramp to the upper flipper then simply apply some light pressure to the two mounting posts to 'bend' them ever so slightly to the left. This is what did the trick for me. All good now.

#1696 3 years ago

Are the ramps really tight shots? I get a lot of bricks. I keep fiddling with the pitch but cant find the right one. Just put the bubble exactly in middle earlier and will give that a go for a bit and see.
