lol, Raymond at his best
and tanx, we should be easy with this 1st step
talking about the rules/code, finally not to hard, 2 days on it, and main lines are acquired (let's admit its quite usual), reaching FINAL BATTLE with 188M
but than the pin itself is hard to play, didnt remember it was like that for the few (may be 10) games i've played on it when it was just new/available, may be this is a TWD contender !?
its really fast & furious, with outlanes (mainly left one) eating the ball
day 1 was first fun encounter (lol), without control & play on the fly, 9 games out of 10 were really bad...
day 2, playing with control, and starting to learn trajectories, was way better (but still really punishing in some cases)
now, need to go deeper in Dwight rules, and learn the toppings & read a lot here about all your strategies, including hero choice (i'm mainly playing with Donna)
Pretty excited about this news:
"The first game was designed by Brian Eddy with Dwight Sullivan on code and Zombie Yeti on art."
https://www.knapparcade.org/post/details-on-stern-pinball-s-two-2023-cornerstone-games
I've got my fingers crossed for a classic movie theme. Something for Dwight's unique skills to shine.
Unfortunately means he'll be likely busy on it for a while. And since Mando is still in production I bet any extra time will be used to clean that code up. I bet we don't see any major tmnt updates for ages. Maybe a few IC fixes, but no score balancing. Just amateur speculation though.

This is my experience still too after having the game for over a year: killer game followed by frustrating games. The outlanes are vacuums. It forcing me to get better outlane save skills though. Since I've owned tmnt I've learned to shimmy balls out (only really works on the right side on tmnt without any de-borging), and I've become much more aware of the geometry of outlane areas when I'm playing other games now too. I also have some bad habits where I'll smack the wrong side of the game when it's near an outlane that tmnt is good to try and de-programme myself on.
Tmnt can definitely make you a better player. But I think it will never seem easy. Especially when you start going for other objectives like going for the perfect pizza. I don't know how many games I've tried for at least one marshmallow, ice cream and gummy bear just to drain before I even get to multiball. . ...and score under 1mil. ;(

TMNT specifically makes me wish Insider Connected had a "change difficulty by profile" feature to it. What I mean is, if you could enable something in the adjustments of a machine to allow the rules to be modified based on a player modified setting on your Stern IC profile. So then I could play the game as designed, but my son could play with much easier settings: outlanes always save ball, 1 ramp to light episodes, maybe even something like all scores boosted by 10%, things like that. It would be a great use of the Stern IC system and how it "knows" whos playing.
Not Stern IC related, but it would also work if Stern could add an "Adjustments Profiles" system where you could create, name, save, and easily switch back and forth from different groups of adjustments. Hell, if you could make an adjustment that would allow you to enable switching between those profiles from the flipper options between starting a game, that would amazing as well. This would be super useful for tournaments especially but I could see it being useful in a lot of other cases as well.
day 3 and i've just seen COWABUNGA... but for fun only as playing in a 4 players CO-OP game with myself !
it does help a lot lol

Venom !!!!!
Quoted from jdebottis:Has anyone had issues with the lair time lock in ninja pizza multiball keeping the ball locked too long since maybe 1.53? A previous code update fixed this issue, but I feel like it’s back since recent updates.
Also, anyone ever have any problems with ball 2 not locking in the pizza parlor with a premium? Sometimes it happens with ball 3, but pretty rarely.
If these issues have already been addressed I apologize. There’s a lot to read through here.
Did you ever find a solution to this problem? My premium just started doing this. Sometimes it will randomly start ninja pizza multiball without a shot going into the parlor. Anyone have any ideas on what to check?
I think I found a bug today.
Got to team-up with at least 3 (maybe even 4) episodes completed. I know for sure I got Window Shopping, the first phase of Baxter, but I can’t remember the other 1 or 2 episodes I beat… ugh, and this is where having a more granular breakdown of game stats would b super useful to all of us.
Like, at the end of the game, all of our completed modes and time spent in each would be so awesome. Both for us as players and for anyone trying to track down bugs.
But anyhow, back to the team-up bug:
Now I remember why I don’t remember how many episodes I had completed - the glider didn’t catch the ball, so I was making shots during the intro animation. By the time team-up officially began, I had the lair shot ready to rescue Leonardo.
everything was going great, and I shot the right ramp to defeat shredder, then it prompted me to shoot the pizza parlor shot under the van, and I shot it twice but it just spat the ball out the left side. Like, it was clearly registering the shot, but just dumping it
First time ever getting that far into team-up, it was a huge bummer to not be able to complete it.
Anyone else experience that bug?

So did you rescue 2-3 turtles first? Like, go through all the 'bad guys' then rescue two or three times? You can't defeat shredder until after you rescue everyone. If Mikey was lit for rescue and you hit the parlor, I could see there being a bug. The other thing is it mightve timed out. Was there blue shots lit again when you hit the parlour?
I've only beaten the mode once (without the 'I want a body' bug/exploit) but it did work for me . Which now I'm rembering that I think I only needed to rescue 2 turtles instead of 3 which you would think you would have to. But it's been a while. I'd like to beat it a couple more times before I take the glass off and test to see if there's other bugs on the mode. But that is the best way to diagnose a bug; If you want to try and recreate it, this is the best way.
I have a pro too, so there's always a chance the prem code has a bug different than the pros.
Joined the club today and the game needed the glider diverter servo replaced, which was included with the game.
After replacing the servo the test isn’t really working. I’d just reconnected everything and held the diverter without reinstalling all the ramps around it.

I have heard the servo test may not actually be a good reliable way to tell if it’s working properly. This guy said his replacement didn’t work properly in test but does in actual gameplay.
Can someone please share what happens when you go into test?
Also did this fall out somewhere or is the carpet just due for a vacuuming BF0BCE47-8AEE-48C9-8952-F15F618A871C (resized).jpeg
I kept hearing that Turtles is a brutal game, you lose your ball all the time, etc... And truthfully, the one Turtles game I played WAS like that, but it was in some ratty bar and felt to me like it wasn't level so I always thought it deserved another chance before passing judgement.
Today it finally got that chance, we found a Turtles at a new local restaurant and got a few games in. Of course the game was unfamiliar and I was still finding the shots but it never felt unfair. I had pretty good ball times for the most part and scored 14.6M which hopefully isn't bad for not knowing what I'm doing yet.
So, now I want a Turtles What's the current thinking on Pro vs. Premium with about a $1500 price difference (6500 vs 8000)? As I understand it Premium mostly gets you the diverter, Turtle MB comes out of the van, animated Krang that jumps up & down and insults you, an extra pizza topping, and locking a ball in the Lair. Anything else I'm missing? What would you recommend? If I get the Pro, what are some of the top mods to get that are still available?
Thanks so much guys, TURTLE POWER!

Not really a big deal, but the pizza disc also spins both directions on the premium. I can understand settling for the pro on this one, but I think the diverter changes the gameplay enough that I would miss it if I had the pro. I also think the van spilling the balls out is a really fun moment. You can probably find a premium under $8,000 as well. I got mine for closer to $7,000 recently.

I have a pro and it’s fine for me . You can’t go wrong either way. Pros seem faster less stop and go if that’s your thing

The ball seems to move pretty fast on the ramps, how do you have time to activate the diverter? Or do you just set it in advance and periodically reassess where you want the ball to feed?
Quoted from sarty51:Recently installed Insider connect on my TMNT Premium. Running latest software revision. A lot of times when an insider home team profile is selected and then start is pressed the game will freeze and need to be rebooted. Anyone else have this bug?
Same thing happens on my pro, it's extremely frustrating.
Quoted from sarty51:Guess I’ll send an email to Stern then. It’s extremely annoying.
Please lmk what they say.

You should know that the diverter isn't active all of the time. When you have shots active where it will need to stop the ball, you can't use it. Otherwise, I generally try to switch it ahead of shots if I know I need the ball going to a certain flipper. I'm still getting used to the game though.

You need to pull out the interlock switch.
Pull OUT the interlock switch? So keep the coin door open?
I’m mostly curious if someone can post a video of how the glider servo test acts or if someone can at least confirm it acts identical to in-game play.
I may just have to reassemble and test with balls installed so I can start a game.

I just ran the servo test on the ramp diverter. Yes, you need the interlock switch pulled out for 48V. No, it doesn’t cycle the diverter as it does in game. Only moves it to the one side.
Super helpful! Thank you, I am thinking my new servo might actually work because it did only send it to the one side in test.
Edit update: replacement servo did not work
ok, finally got all the turtles on level 4, now i can concentrate more on the game
even if this pin still kick my ass most of the time, that left outlane is something i've never seen before
...
and just get a bug (sorry if this case already exposed, i didnt read the full topic)
was in TP multiball, 2 balls remaining, i shoot 1 to the right ramp to collect AVRIL hurry up, while the other go out to the left, BATTLE AGAIN was lit
i get no ball back while AVRIL screen was running with points, than the "avril" ball was release & multiball over
and its not a switch problem as the BATTLE AGAIN light goes OFF

You stated you did see the diverter swing to the one side in test mode correct? I truly honestly never use my diverter usually until deep into the game to set up shots in desperation. Are there any pre-reqs that need to be made to activists the diverter?
other possible bug :
the FOOT combo
sometime the left ramp didnt validate the 3rd shoot, while you have done the 1 + 2 ones, and the 3rd insert is well lit...
i have to check if this is happening when the center ramp is/was waiting for the weapon shot !?

Rebumping this post back to see if anyone can help. Anyone know of a fix for pizza parlor multiball randomly triggering? Sometimes the second ball doesn’t get registered for ball lock and then it goes into ball find and can trigger the multiball.

Have you tried cleaning the optos up near the pizza parlor area? Maybe try resetting cables in that area as well as checking the ball trough area as well. Clean and reset cables. What software rev are you running?

for sure, more than some details are still to learn...
and while i'm here, what activate the 2 ramp targets (before the ramp) to go to dimension X ?

in fact, i simply better have to re-read this AFTER having played the pin, its much easier to understand than reading it before ! lol

still about the code :
- i'm level 4 on all turtle : than next training in a game is the score to be x1.30...
question : i already did/succeed 2 times this last level on a same game, does the 2nd time is useless ?
or you really get something more, because screen is saying +30%, than do we get x1.60 ? and so on ???
- about the 2X playfield running : would be nice to have something on the screen telling you its quite over, or as in SW, a sound sample (and if one is already there, i didnt noticed it)
Question for anyone who has the Stern Custom sword Shooter rod, is there any difference between the stock shooter plate and the plate that comes with the custom one?
Quoted from RipleYYY:- about the 2X playfield running : would be nice to have something on the screen telling you its quite over, or as in SW, a sound sample (and if one is already there, i didnt noticed it)
The 2x Target insert will start flashing faster when it's close to running out but there is no timer. I agree that a small timer in the corner of the screen would be nice. Mandalorian has a timer shown for it's pf X, though it does get hidden by the mode timer sometimes. I just wanna know where my pf X is at dammit!
The lack of a 2x timer doesn't bug me that much since it does give you the fast flashing for the last few seconds and also a generous grace time to refresh.
But the gui for the other timers drives me nuts though. If 2 is running you'll only see the shortest (Probably something useless like 123 or weapon) and the timer info and ingredients disappear for a cut scenes when the ball stops and you have a 1/2 second to look at the screen. Arg!
ok, you confirm what i was thinking about the 2X target near to end, but not easy to notice, because game really require more than all your attention already (and i'm an old guy !!!!lol) ...
in this case (while D. did choose that way), would be easier to notice while using different colors :
as its blinking green when active, let's continue in the road lights : blinking orange when you're at 10- sec, and blinking red when you're at 5-
Quoted from sarty51:No problem. Let us know how it works out.
Unplugging the opto harness and plugging it back in seemed to resolve this for me. Can you shed some light on your reasoning behind doing this? Just trying to learn!

The playfield outer flasher lights also have a rotational lighting effect while PF multiplier is active. But, it's not something I easily notice with all the other lighting effects going on. Sometimes I don't realize I even started a PF multiplier.

Hey all, my premium started loading all balls into the shooter lane and trying to eject them into the game. After q while the coils becomes weak (from constant cycling) and can’t get them out of the lane. Then it just constantly runs a ball search and keeps firing the auto plunger. Any thoughts ?

boum ! there's a sound, just noticed it for the 1st time, let's admit its not only very short, but also very soft...
