Quoted from NimblePin:

Now, obviously this is a TEMPORARY fix since I’m SURE Stern will be making us a proper “Revision B” ramp with BOTH the new diverter guard, AND the wireform curve fix, so future turtleheads can rest easy knowing Stern has saved the proverbial day once again!

Unlikely, the last two Sterns I’ve had NIB that had ramp issues didn’t get new ramps they got a plastic flap to screw on top of the ramp entrance to keep the ball on the ramp.

And one of those games was the at the time most expensive stern batman 66. The fix will be plastic cover for the ramp and a protector for the ramp/diverter will be like the one for iron maiden jump ramp/orbit little metal with adhesive.

And I have an LE coming so not bashing just realistic expectations of the revisions, that will likely come.

Quoted from J85M:

I’d also like to know this been watching a lot of streams and I’m kinda liking the pro more, mainly the stopper instead of the diverter seems to give you a little break from the lightening speed of the game.

The diverter also stops the ball and the software sometimes locks you out from changing it and moves the diverter for you. Overall the diverter doesn't blow me away. It is cool but the learning curve and speed of the game makes it hard to determine how cool.

I do not like Donatello as the instant Multiball seems like a negative because you get no points in MB. Also, his skill shot is the center ramp which is crazy compared to the van for Michelangelo.

I guess I just think the turtles and training need some balancing based on the difficulty of the ask.

Love the game but I think overall it needs some balance in scoring, rewards for dificulty, and maybe a risk/reward for the MBs.

I really like how the colored outline around the character matches the mode and wraps into the color of the mode insert light. It’s very well thought out how the art really represents the modes and shots. Hat tip to Mr Yeti.

Yeah, it's cool how he matched the stroke around the character to those insert outlines. I keep thinking the mode insert on shredder's chest makes him look like Iron Man.

Also, is it just me, or does one of the music themes have bits that sound like Motorhead Ace of Spaces?

Yep, don’t set yourself up for disappointment. Been down that path a few times and have learnt to temper expectations. It’ll be a fix, but a bare minimum one.

We talking BM66, just realised you no longer have yours.

Luckily a friend customised the ramps/wireforms in question with a top rail. Likely do this for Turtles or add some washers at the lower ends of the wireform to raise the edges enough to stop ball jump offs.

I had to do this on BM66 once the ramp had the custom top rail at the entrance and first half bend, the ramp was so fast it was jumping off on the next turn and completely clearing the bargirl deflector, had to raise the ramp with washers under the mounts to lift the left edge ever so slightly, something similar on TMNT will likely sort the issue.

Quoted from Turtlepower169:

Hopefully stern sends us all a ramp with a legit built in metal piece. 9k and we have to install metal piece with tape.

Some people paid over 9k!

So...... Word on the street is pinbrowser has been updated and now works again! If this is true expect a release from me for the pro that rights the wrong....... by putting the Original TMNT theme song into this game!

In fact I'm going to inject the tmnt turtles in time arcade theme song too! Maybe at the end!

technically you can even include original tmnt voice clips into it too!

Game has changed fellas

Yeah, I know that was the case THAT time...
This time we have TURTLE POWER on our side. Or at least a guy that works there that just so happens to be a huge TMNT fan. Jared wouldn’t want his #1 grail pin with these two clearly glaring oversights ruining his cherished green baby, riiiiight?
If I was a super fan, and worked at Stern, I for one would make it happen...and not via a “band-aid” either.
Besides, you can’t just slap on a third wireform rail and call it “good“, it has to be replaced.
Early Hobbit taught us that.

Don’t know Why Borg didn’t do more testing on it?
He sure as hell did on Marilyn’s wireform return.
That ball can go Mach-5 back to the flipper, without a single rattle!
A work of wireform art if you ask me...

#860 3 years ago

So are we talking about one owner having this problem? Has anyone tried bending the wireform ramp or using washers etc to change the angle?

Who’s to say Jared’s having the same issue?

If anything, It’ll be a Perspex fix like Metallica and B66 or a new riser post, but keep dreaming NimblePin .

Edit: agree about Munsters....wireform porn.

#862 3 years ago

I’ve tried all the tricks, even pitch...and it’s not going to help that particular corner keep a fast moving ball on the rails. It’s just too sharp too soon.
The right return is less steep than the left and has a longer gap to go before the ball needs to make the second turn so, it doesn’t suffer as much since it has a tiny bit more time to slow down.
I don’t want to slow ANY gameplay down if I can help it, hence why you need that third rail ala Munsters.

#863 3 years ago
Quoted from NimblePin:

I went old-school and double-sided taped a classic Bally protector onto the ramp. Fits completely snug and is thinner than a Cliffy.
Good time to deburr the Party Wagon diverter flap as well.
Edges were super sharp on mine.

We might want to stop posting about pinball browser so publicly, especially since Stern read these forums a lot more than most realise, could be best to keep it a little more discrete and just drop the updated files, rather than a it’s updated let’s change this game this game, just a thought?

And it would probably be good to not set up a booth selling pinbrowser mods next to the Stern booth at a major show.

Any advice on solving my airball problem?

A shot directly to the right-side stand up target at the entrance to the left ramp sends the ball into the training sign, off the glass, over the lair and down the left outlane.

I adjusted the pizza wheel, which seemed a tad low, to be completely flush with the play field but this doesn’t seem to help.

Is it smart/safe to bend that stand up target bracket forward a couple degrees?

#867 3 years ago

So yesterday my LE had this wonderful thing happen to it. I emailed chas earlier in the week to let him know that the raphael diverter wasn't properly operating no response. When you went into diagnosis and adjusted diverter it never lined up properly on mine (I think it's a defective piece on mine specifically). Saturday was in the shop, my diverter had gone far right and jumped.the railing and seized up my servo and bent the wire going from the servo to the raphael diverter. Put another call in to chas and email. These things never happens on a weekday when I can get a hold of support, it would be nice if they could check messages just to assure they will be on top of it. I'm hoping to get a replacement fast and some back up servos and bars so that it's a quick fix when or if it happens again. It's a nice design, 3 screws that hold in the diverter assembly and wireforms so easy access to fix it, great job john Borg on that idea. Will keep yall updated of progress. Aligned seized up servo so that it can still play although diverter is presently doa. It is an amazing game despite and everyone so far is loving it.

Yeah that ones a given. That’s more likely the reason it got locked out then posts on here between buyers and pinheads exchanging custom code.

The second you start charging for these things Stern have to be seen to actively protect the licence and IP they have been given to use.

Mine was the old one from my Future Spa that I just polished up but here’s a new one if you’d like to try it out. Don’t know if the new one is thicker than the old one though. YMMV.

https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/P-7639

I linked the part# to the original post as well for continuity’s sake.

Quoted from cooked71:

Who’s to say Jared’s having the same issue?

I’m pretty sure Jared still has his on location so, who knows how many games he’s personally put on it.
Like I said, I have more than 50 on mine now and every single time the left ramp gets a pure/clean swift shot from the right flipper, that particular corner can’t hold the ball at all.
Backhands from cradle are fine obviously, but on-the-fly backhands sometimes fly off too.
Game has been set at 6.8, 6.9, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2 and even 7.3...
7.1 and 7.2 feel the best so far.

#870 3 years ago

This was brought up briefly before but my center ramp on pro doesn’t register 100% of the shots. Anyone else seeing this issue? Seems to register 50% of the shots.

If Stern doesn't get back to you fast enough, that looks like a standard size RC servo you can get for $10 or less at a hobby shop if you have one nearby. They didn't even change the connector on the end. You will need to power it up so it is centered before you screw the horn back on.

Yeah you can bend it forward few degrees and use common sense. I’m guessing you’ll need a switch adjustment too, once you shift it. I’m not really having this issue so if you don’t mind take a picture and we can compare any differences in our games

Attaching some pics of the airball bracket in question (as well as one particularly amusing result). The bracket itself doesn't seem obviously out of position. And, like I was saying, I'm still having the issue after raising the pizza wheel height to be as flush as possible with the rest of the playfield. Anything look odd to you?

If it matters, I'm at about 6.5 degrees incline. Manual says 6.5 but I'm seeing most are having a better gameplay experience at 7 deg or higher.

I'll try to get a video of it later. Shouldn't be too hard as it's roughly a 1-in-3 game occurrence.

I pulled the trigger and ordered a Pro! It’s my first new game. I’ve been playing it at my local arcade and haven’t been this excited since Ghostbusters. Plus lurking in this thread the last couple of weeks was making me too envious. Supposed to arrive in about a month.

#875 3 years ago

Congrats! This has the makings of a great game!!

Sooner or later, you realize that your ideal pinball collection is your current collection plus one.

Doesn't matter how many you have, you always want another.

Drop the flipper at the perfect moment to help it stay in there.

About to place my order for pro, are they going into homes now?
Rather not wait a month for it.

Training shot: if you get it in there and it is caught under the flipper you can do super fast flips and it'll work it's way up into the lane.

Quoted from HighProtein:

On the thing that’s banging up the balls on that metal. I cut up a black flipper band and wedged it in there. The problem is after a few hits the ball it came out. So now back to the drawing board

Ha so true. I actually love to go from pin to pin and mix it up. If i play for an hour i rarely concentrate on one pin.

#886 3 years ago

Cool thanks I will try it the training modes are fun . This game gets better the more I play really like it .

How do we get to the glider mode in LE?

#887 3 years ago

Never mind I see you move the diverter left and keep hitting the ramp then go right and collect .

How do you get more pizza toppings ?

#888 3 years ago
Quoted from Mando:

How do you get more pizza toppings ?

If I understand it.. it's not about getting more.. but about what your slider is on when you start multiball. The display shows a line of toppings and as you hit stuff, the series moves to the right. I think the 5 highlighted when you start Ninja MB are the ones you get.

#889 3 years ago

Does anyone have a current list of all the known issues on the Pro’s/LEs?

1. Diverter hitting the ramp.
2.
3.

Quoted from NimblePin:

I’m pretty sure Jared still has his on location so, who knows how many games he’s personally put on it.

I played my game first, out of the box for about an hour. My game had no shipping damage, no issues, and played flawlessly.

I then left it at a public location.

I’m not sure how many plays the game has gotten, or if I’ve taken any damage etc on the machine. I guess we will see. I’m picking up the game today and will run audits on it and then take to another local arcade for a week long stint.

I’ll say this.

If there does end up being a bonafide, game wide physical tech issue Stern has been known to issue service bulletins or even send out revision parts to dealers on occasion as needed.

It’s also well known that many Stern team members quietly read this site. Just in case any of you forgot for some reason.

If you have an issue with your machine please let your dealer know, or call tech support at 1-800-KICKERS.

There is not a member on pinside who is a bigger fan of this game than I am. I was extremely pleased (sincerely) at my personal experience playing the game.

#892 3 years ago
Quoted from NimblePin:

After about 50 games or so, I’m noticing a fair amount of jettisoned balls off the last left wireform return corner when they are of course, hauling turtle ass.
If Borg or Dwight could take note of this problem and add an upper rail to this corner to match the first bend’s upper rail, it would keep the ball smoothly flowing down the wireform.
Please and thanks! [quoted image]

Where you have started the blue pen, check that ramp crossover in a slo-mo video.

These kind of ramps are sometimes made incorrectly, where the lower piece sits proud and causes an air ball.

Had it on my Maiden.

A Questions to the Owners. Is there a midnight madness mode?
I think i have heard that dwight said there is none, but did somebody try it out?

Xaqery says no Midnight Madness mode in TMNT. Since there's obviously some polish left to do, here's hoping for one of Dwight's Midnight Madness modes in another update. It's a shame Star Wars had to have its MM pulled.

At current prices there should be one on the game out the box. I find these things the most annoying about Stern, what do the action button plates cost Stern a couple cents each?

They used to be laser cut like AC/DC, TWD and Star Trek then I guess to save a few cents they went to blank plates with printed graphics i.e. GOTG, then to maybe save a cent or two more with deadpool used a plastic plate, now we get nothing, it’s something really simple but they just used add that finish to the while look of the game and with the amazing art zombieyeti creates it’s a shame not to have a little more of it around the lock bar button.

Totally agree, looks ugly without it

#899 3 years ago

I am sure that a modder or two will come out with nice one. I know it is not the same as having it included, but at least this way you get to decide if it is something you want to add to your machine. I think some of the after market ones look nicer than stock.
