1 week ban for anyone trying to sell or trade an HUO pinball machine without at least one closeup picture of the shooter lane... sorry no exceptions.

Would this be acceptable or too much shadowing?

Somebody is finally making some sense around here.

    #4 7 years ago

What about the a pic of a goodie bag still stapled inside the cab?

    #5 7 years ago

Sorry Brad, that example will get you 2 days off... try better next time.

    Quoted from PoMC:

Pretty easy to leave a goody bag in place whether huo or routed. Much more difficult to hide 4,000 plays of wear at the shooter lane.

    #7 7 years ago

Nice shooter lanes do give you a nice tingle, lol!

    That FS is lookin' good.

    #12 7 years ago

I sincerely hope i never get to the point where i am obsessing over shooter lanes, coin doors or the warning instructions on the back of my machine. Ymmv.

Is it a big deal to keep your goody bag attached inside the cabinet? New to this so have to ask...

    #14 7 years ago

Don't bother sending any PMs. This HUO is not for sale.

It is to me, but I'm nuts.

I always leave the bag attached and never remove it.

I want pics of the op unboxing his huo!

    #21 7 years ago

Not trying to step on toes but this shooter lane idea is crap ,because owners are now using mylar to protect it. Yes..I saw it first hand on a TAF and walked away.No idea what else could have been masked. It's food for thought, carry on
    Mike

    #22 7 years ago

Does anyone around here even play their games?

    #23 7 years ago

I think I may be working on the older ones too much but the few new ones are playing without issue.

I must be misunderstanding you. If so, apologies. However, how is clear mylar "masking" anything. You still can see what is under the Mylar. To answer your question, if I see someone has mylared the shooter, it tells me the opposite of what you are thinking. It shows me someone concerned about wear not hiding something. Just to be clear, teekee isn't saying shooter pics prove huo, but it can most assuredly prove it isn't huo. It's just a tool to help substantiate a claim.

    Quoted from RustyLizard:

    How do you do that?

    #26 7 years ago

I always tell true HUO when there's a question by looking at the bottom of the cabinet or coin slots for wear. Dirty operator hand marks = not HUO.

One of the first things I do after unboxing a new game is remove the goodie bag. I've never understood why people feel the need to keep it stapled inside the game. I can't imagine there are very many collectors that would give me less for my game because the goodie bag isn't physically attached to the inside of the cab.

Hell no! That would totally decrease the value of my investment .

It's probably tough to buy another plastic bag and staple it inside the cab.

your poll is missing an important option...

    Quoted from dmbjunky:

Yeah, and what if you don't get the staples right? I mean they come in different sizes and gauges, so can you ever really be sure your faux bag won't be given away by the non-factory staples?

    Quoted from Mike_J:

You are nuts. I always remove them and don't try discounting for that at my house.

I just thought of a tag line for my buddy, Cliff.

"If your shooter lane is lookin' "iffy", you better call Cliffy!"

    #35 7 years ago

I like my shooter lanes worn and dirty.
    Yeah, 'cause I'm like that.

    Quoted from Mike_J:

I only have one NIB and I left the bag in there... largely because I didn't want to put it somewhere else and lose it. Lol - to me it's a nice safe spot that I know exactly where to find it.

    Quoted from Skins:

You still can see what is under the Mylar.

If I put mylar on shooter lane from day one it will hide the fact of how many games could be on it by not showing wear.I dunno,I think differently on it than you. It's all perspective.

    Quoted from taylor34:

These are helpful, but HUO games can get dirty from moving it around the house, and esp from turning it on and off. Coindoor hardware can be replaced and doors touched up, plus some folks use tokens or quarters even at home, causing marks on otherwise HUO titles. There is no foolproof method. I had a WCS94 that was routed for 6 years, but still had a pristine shooter lane.. the trough eject hit in such a way it never wore the wood.

It doesn't matter how many games are on it. All that matters is current condition. What's the difference between a crappy player playing 1000 games average 2 min ea, and a good player playing 100 20-minute games? If the shooter lane is mylared, look for wear elsewhere. All games wear differently. If no wear can be found, the game is in good shape!

    2 reasons I leave it in;
    1. I've never really seen any need to take it out of the game unless I need to use the items that are inside; which I don't. Why pull something out of the game just to clutter up some other area with it?

    2. Pinball buyers can be notoriously, finnicky, persnikkity, and most of all ignorant. I mean we're literally in a thread right now talking aboot Shooter lanes, the all time dumbest possible topic of a machine.

I put people in my "ignore" list after I have suffered through 40 consecutive meaningless bullshit posts. You were up to 37 because of the MMr threads, but this post just reset the counter to zero.

I will add that ALL games for sale should include a shooter lane picture.

    #50 7 years ago

I don't really care for any of the shit you post, but I don't put anybody on ignore either, and if I did I sure wouldn't brag about who I did. Typical jackwad manuever. Just trying to make yourself look better. And it's not working.
