Hi folks!
I've got a Gottlieb Cleopatra I'm bringing back from the dead, and it has 1 issue that's driving me crazy.
The 1000's chime sounds great if you score 1000 points... but if you score 5000 points or something, it only chimes once although you can hear it trying to hit the other 4 times.
I've repinned the interboard connector (these are all original boards)... replaced the 7417 on the motherboard, replaced both of the resistors that tie to that line on the motherboard, replaced the transistor on the driver board (and the diode on that line)....
If I jump a ground wire to the tab of the driver, it seems like I can quickly make it ring several times so I believe the chime coil is fine (it tests the same as the others).... I replaced the foam that the plunger rests on to make sure it wasn't hanging or anything...
The way I'm reading the schematics, I believe this is all that's in that circuit except for the spider chip on the main board.
The 100's chime rings 500 points out really well with no problems.... anybody have any other ideas before I assume it's the spider chip? Do they even fail like that?
