You need to make sure that the washers and grommet are in the correct place. I had the same problem in a Sinbad and replaced everything only to have the same issue. the problem was that I had 2 washers on the top of the grommet instead of one on either side of the chime.

if the grommet is toast you can get a rebuild kit from PBR.
