Hi! Flashers on my WCS94 have never worked and I'm finally getting around to troubleshooting.
The video below shows the problem. Basically, there is only one backbox and one playfield flasher that light up, regardless of which flasher should be lit. The rest don't flash.

THings I've checked :
- Voltages OK (21.6VDC at TP7 and at pins J106-5 and J107-6 and at backbox flashers)(BR4 and C11 test OK)
- Continuity OK (J106, J124, and J125 to backbox flashers)
- Tested (in diode test) all transistors and pre drive transistors that control flashers (all normal readings)
- F111 and F115 fuses OK
- 906 bulbs replaced

Have I got a short somewhere? Anyone else ever see this happen?
Thanks in advance to anyone who took the time to read this!

Quoted from tonyhoff1:

Are you sure the connectors are where they need to be on the board? That is truly strange. And that’s where I would start

It really is strange! I read through many threads about flashers and didn't see anyone with a similar problem.

Quoted from zaza:

Makes me think of a broken RED-WHT wire somewhere in the chain.
It is possible that the 21.6V you found is measured through the flashers.
A way to find out is to remove all flashers and see where the 21.6V stops.

Thank you for the reply zaza! That's something that I had never considered. Will play around with it tonight with that in mind. Happy holidays!

So I ran a few tests this evening based on what you wrote.
I removed the molex plugs from J106 and J107 and tested voltage directly on the header pins (I had previously just stuck the multimeter lead into the molex housings with J106 and J107 connected). So I get a nice 21V at J107-6, but literally 0V at J106-5. TP7 still reads 21V as well.

Now that I know that voltage at J106-5 is problematic, I can dig a bit and hopefully find out why.

Thanks for giving me this direction zaza ... I was totally clueless there for a while.

Just wanted to follow-up on the resolution of this thread in case it helps someone else.
I reflowed the solder on the J106 pins and afterwards was getting continuity to J106-5 from TP7 and J107-6. Reconnected the board, voltage at J106-5 was 21V. All flashers work as they should.

Thanks again to zaza ! Turned out to be a simple fix, but I was pretty stumped until he pointed me in the correct path.
