Hey All,

Small issue with my DE Tommy. You can play the game for a while and every once and a while the lower half of the GI lighting will shut off. All lighting is LED so the lights still have a very slight illumination. So I assume there is a short. So far anytime this has happened if you leave it off overnight and come back the GI's work again.

I've looked over the wiring under the playfield and I can't find anything glaring.

Ideas?

It's not a short. If it were, the GI fuse would go. Most likely the wiring is heating up. I'd start with the GI connectors at the board. Very common for these to be getting burned. The LEDs are probably helping but damage was already done.

Simple. Check the power board GI connector. Upper left board in the backbox. Wiggle the connector and you'll see the lights come on. Its either toasty or worn and losing connection when the connector warms up.

Had the same problem on my Tommy and it was cold solder joints on power board. Reflowed with a soldering iron and good to go.
