After installing all new boards (except sound that was repaired) I think I reversed the ribbon at my brand new ColorDMD. Now F105 blows immediately on power up and no DMD. What have I done now? Three years I've been screwing with this sucker. Makes one physically ill.

I actually sent them all out after I plugged the MPU to SDB ribbon off one pin. I was still having trouble with the drop up/drop down and the two diverters so I just installed a new MPU and 8 driver. So it has been hodgepodge. I have had these boards in and out multiple times. I had everything good to the point of just those 4 coils not firing but obviously could not start a game due to the balls not getting diverted.

Haven't checked that yet but I know where we are going with this. Divide and conquer troubleshooting. Back to where this began: the four solenoids on the 8 driver not working. Checked power to each by grounding.All OK. Checked control wire to each by grounding at connector. This test eliminated wiring to the play field as a possible cause. This is why I went ahead and installed the new MPU and 8 driver. Sorry but I am becoming less of a fan of sending these antique boards out for repair only to have another antique component fail down the road....
