I'd like to replace the Lost Mine coil in my White Water with an AE-26-1200.

I have a new Stern coil in my stash I was wondering if I could use instead of ordering a new one.

The numbers on the Stern coil's wrapper are:

090-5044-0T
26-1200

Thanks!

Identical coil. 26 is gauge of wire and 1200 is number of turns. It will work fine in your game.

Your old coil doesn't have a diode, so be sure the new coil doesn't have one either when you put it in.

The coil I pulled out of the machine was a Stern 090-5053-00 / 23-800. It had the habit of sending the ball out at such an angle, that 9 times out of 10 it would drain straight down the middle. It was absolutely maddening.

Now, with the 26-1200 in there, it sends the ball out of the mine to middle of the right flipper. It makes the game so much better when you don't have to fear making the whirlpool shot.

Thanks a bunch, Lloyd. You're the man, as always!

(By the way, the coil I pulled out had a diode on it, so I left the diode on the new one as well.)

Quoted from Fatsquatch:

As long as you get the wires in the right spots you are okay.

Someone before you messed up, note the other coils in your game - slingshots, pop bumpers, etc. etc. ( except flippers ) don't have diodes.

Williams moved them to the power driver board, so in the field if you put the wires in the wrong spots you didn't take out the transistor. And the coil works that way no matter what side the wires are on.

Would there be any benefit to removing the diode from the new coil?
