For Embryon, Bally used a AS-2518-61 board, whereas for Paragon, they used the AS-2518-50. Are these boards interchangeable?

I believe that all of the other boards in the two machines are the same, so theoretically one could swap in a -61 sound board into a Paragon, but it would play the Embryon sounds, correct?

Thanks experts...

Bally drives the sound board in a similar fashion across all the different sound boards. It uses the solenoid encoded data and an enable line. As long as both wiring harnesses are wired for the correct bus voltage(bally sound boards use 43v, 12v, and/or 5v) you can hook it up. It isn't going to be an acceptable replacement. Sounds will be way off, some missing, etc. You won't like the results if it is even plug and play ready.... so find the correct sound board.

*** 2nd thought the +43v pin will most likely not be wired in your Embryon which is required for the early -50 sound board. Bally stopped using the 43v to power the amps after the -50 era sound board.
