I have been battling the left return Eddy board in my TOM. Originally, I thought that I had a bad board and I ordered a replacement. When the replacement came in, I installed it and it works with the ball essentially touching the sensor under the playfield. When the sensor is placed in its respective position, it will not register through the playfield. Here is the troubleshooting that I have done:
To confirm that the parts are viable, I have placed the same board and sensor on the right side and it works as intended
I have cycled through multiple combinations of old and new parts on the left side and the best I can get is a sensor registering when the ball is in almost direct contact with the tip of the sensor.
I have adjusted the Eddy board numerous times in an effort to boost signal reception.
Basically, by process of elimination, I have determined that I have no Idea what I am doing??? I can say that the components are not the issue as all combination work as designed on the right side of the game. Is there a situation where the Eddy board might be under powered or some other reason to cause next to zero radius on the sensor. This problem has me swimming in the deep end...
Any help would be thoroughly appreciated....
Thank you,
Andrew
