I found these led strips at k-mart and thought they would look good incorporated in to the pursuit flashers on Judge Dredd under the cabinet. They came in a package of two 12 inch strips so i got one red and one blue.0331131404a.jpg0331131404a.jpg

I bought all the necessary wiring harnesses and built a adapter to plug into the wiring harness under the playfield right below the flasher. 1 red and 1 blue connected to each flasher. left flasher led strips in front on each side and right flasher led strips in back on each side.

Everything worked like I planed it and when the Pursuit flashers go off the light show on the floor is amazing.
After awhile the flashers on the top side of the playfield for the right pursuit no longer light and the led light at a slower pace then the ones for the left flashers and when i just plug in the flashers with out the led strips they still flash just not as fast as they should. Anyone have any idea as to what i messed up here? left flashers still work on top of playfield with led strips plugged in. The flasher test says the transistors it uses are Q30 and Q29 I cant seam to find Q29 I should mention i have a rotten dog replacement driver board installed in the game. I also that there is a flasher in the backbox that also flashes with the pursuit flashers should i maybe run my led strips off of these flashes instead of the ones on the playfield as one recieves power from J107 and the other gets its power from J106 one is a much larger wire than the other just a thought.

My first thought would be, do the LEDs you used like getting hit with a 20 volt jolt ?

Yes, i think so. Lol, Wow how did i miss that. They are made to run off 12 volt from a car and seam to be handeling it just fine would that stop the top flasher from lighting but led strips still flash?

It seems it didn't do it any good.

They're made for 12v not 20v. You probably stressed the whole circuit. I think you wanted to hook them up with 12v power and then the transistor side to the ground on the strips. Or better yet, a relay running off the transistor and 12v power and ground at the strips. At this point, I'm not sure where to go for partially working flashers. Perhaps I'd start replacing components in the board circuit. But there's probably a more scientific method to solving it
