I have an eightball deluxe 1980 that has a hacked solenoid driver board. Someone near me has a Bally speakeasy 1982 that they are parting out. Is the speak easy driver board compatible with the EBD?
Thanks for the advice,
Al

Yes. AFAIK, from their first Solid State up as long as it has the old 6/7 digit displays they pretty much had the same driver/solenoid board.
If that replacement cost more than $50, and if you ever want to do a led job to that pin, you may even consider one of the repro boards made to be better at LED.

And as an FYI that machine list in that post is pretty much what you are compatible with you old board. Including Speakeasy.
Biggest differance on early Stern/Bally SDBs is that it may or may not have a fuse for the HV but they are all interchangeble from 77-84. The SDB will have no effect on LEDs but an updated lamp driver would.
I can repair your driver board. $45 for all solenoid driver circuits and new connector pins. Add $15 if the 5v or 185v sections need rebuilt.

Guess he might as well add the $15. If it is an original board it needs C23 replaced just for preventive measures, regardless if the cap reads good now or not.
