I picked up a game and it has 3 switches not working, the top left and middle lanes(right works fine)and the super vuk(coIL will forenoon test and ball search).according to the switch matrix they are all in a row linked to Q6 which tests at 6.07 ohm with J8 disconnected.every other switch in the row is working.all fuses have been removed and tested and all wires given a good tug and 1 resoldered.I'm an amateur but I've fixed a few things with some help in other threads so I've done what I know of to get started.any guesses why I have these 3 sitches out? I kind of doubt I have 3 bad micro switches.

Just checked the diodes and the super vuk #44 in manual didn't have a diode and my guess it should. Any experts that can confirm?

If you post a pic of what mech your asking if it has a diode, I can check the one at my house.

Read the manual. Generally the Stern switch matrix chart has a note next to switches that don’t have diodes. And sometimes the diodes are off the coil on tags under the PF. Follow the wires.

If you have a bunch of switches (on the same row or column) not working, it’s generally because a wire is off “upstream” on that row.

Get the matrix, find the affected row/column, and test it from start to finish. Eventually you’ll find the issue. The first switch will work, the second one works, the third one doesn’t. So the problem is between 2-3. Wire off, wire cut, wire broken in the middle (hard to spot)

You can test the connections with a meter on continuity. Hold the wire on the start of the row (first switch) and buzz every switch down the row. Every link in the chain should buzz when you hold your meter on it. You should have a long chain from the end switch all the way back to the molex on the CPU board.

Thanks for the pics and the info on where to start,it appears no diode so I'm good there.I'll start tracing back but probably going to be a couple days.I'm about to head out for a birthday party and i have a union meeting tomorrow then I have to go teach a glassblowing class.

Seems like there's a short,I have power to the first couple switches then loses it.I have a local tech that gives me very fair rates so I think I'm going to leave this one for him.

Problem solved it was a wire soldered in the wrong spot at the super vuk.took Clay about 5 minutes to solve that one.now I can finally play and see if the games any good.

Do you have the newest game roms, there like 2. something? I have the older 1. something and it keeps blowing the fuse on the magnet when you shoot it up the ramp, then it keeps returning every ramp shot to the right flipper.

I'm assuming original roms
