Have an oddball and before I start swapping out ICs, want to see if anyone else has seen and corrected this error.
Background: F-14 Tomcat, clean MPU, mild corrosion on one battery terminal replaced with off-board battery pack. Game boots fine, attract mode fine, displays fine. Ordered some parts, put them in, now the game gives Adjustment Failure. Checked 6116 on a B&K 560 and tests good (I don't have a replacement), burned new game EPROMS to L1, getting correct voltage to the 6116.
Symptoms: With coindoor closed, Adjustment Failure on displays when game is turned on. 5VDC+ LED is solid, Blanking LED Solid, Diagnostics happily blinking away. When coindoor is opened, MPU freezes with just 5VDC+ Lit. Closing coindoor and turning game back on, same Adjustment Failure on display. Pushing Diagnostics Button on MPU, two blinks on Diagnostics followed by 10 blinks on Blanking and repeats. Various sources have two blinks is a U25 6116 RAM Memory Protect error but does not mention the 10 diagnostics flashes, and is not consistent with the manual.
Any help will be appreciated! (will also post in KLOV)
Thanks
