    Hey All,

What do people use to get the black rubber residue off the flipper bats. I've gotten most of it but some just won't budge.

    Thanks in advance.

I scrape most off with a knife, then use Novus3 and a Qtip. Takes a little bit of elbow grease but it works.

A little lighter fluid on a rag works wonders

Novus 2 also takes it right off.

I gotta add, I usually replace bats. If they are that gunked up, they usually don't have a whole lotta life left in them. Inspect them from the bottom. Twist the tip. Flex them. If you see cracks, might as well replace them while you have them out.

I use Novus 3 works well with some elbow grease but there are probably better ways. Usually though, if it's been years and years, I just replace them. Usually not worth $6 to scrub for 20 minutes.

Product called Oops! Wouldn't use on delicate plastics but it takes almost any gunk off of anything quickly

Magic eraser and scotch bright are abrasive. I don't recommend. This stuff comes off with alcohol, simple green, lighter fluid or those sorts of cleaners and some scrubbing with a towel. Doing it this way, the bats look new. Doing it with abrasive, it comes off faster but they look scratched up.

Bats are really, really cheap- kinda a important part of a pin. They always seem to be cracked.
Just like flipper coil sleeves, flipper bushings- all are really cheap- best money spent!
