further? rob was helping, sort of a insult to say he wasnt.

you need to CTFD (calm the f down) and take at this a bit slower.. its a bitch of a problem either you have the chops to fix a pinball or just pay someone to do it. Also if you have anyone local who is a pinball fix it champ I would ask them to come over for a beer and learn you some.

if you unplugged the opto board all the opto switches stop working.. and the game will bitch about 12v fuse (because its smart and knows that you killed the opto.. the game assumes that the fuse blew because that plug wont fall out)

so put your optos back on.. do they all work? use something to break the beam of light .. the trough opto TX board is trash on this game so its highly likely that something sucks there. but dont get all panties in a bunch over it right away.. first see if all optos work.. if not report back

next with any physical switches either they work .. a wire is broke off.. or the switch is f'd (shorted) you need to determine this its a crappy tedious job. Im not looking at the matrix for the game right now and not thinking about numbers

Soo.. are all the bad switches sharing a row or column? are they located in any interesting way to a row or column (did the green wire get split somewhere in a replace job)

also what is the history here.. did it ever work. you "LED pimp the game" buy it like this etc etc?

I assume a few things. 1) simple problem, find the wire that broke off or the switch that is jammed shut or shorted out because it got bumped, nicked or jammed. 2) 339 chip bad on the opto board, dont touch it until your sure or have someone socket the chips for you (are the chips already socket-ed if so suspicious malicious)

anywhoo sorry if I am an ass. I am.. and your post per second are annoying that you didnt work with Rob and you said that your a new pin owner, new DMD owner and oh yea "researched pretty extensively and understand that the problem" I totally get new guy lots of money frustration, aptitude for picking up technical.. if you want taught gotta do better at learning.. otherwise the teachers dont care to give you time.

totally get it man.. people lying if they say they haven't been there at some point..

so plug your opto back in do all optos work? it will take some time to test them you can cheat on the car crash opto just lift the play field and rock it .. you will trigger the cars faster that way.
