Quoted from GaryMartin:I wish it had been that easy. The RJ11 was the first thing I checked without success.
Hmm, I'm wondering if it might just be a mis-soldered or loose connection somewhere on the RGB board. With the intermittent issues that we are having, perhaps the pulling & reinserting of the cable flexes the board enough to make contact.......
Quoted from GaryMartin:Yep, GI is still fine. The voltage to the board is right where it should be.
I finally got through to Stern tech support. Sent in the old board and am waiting for the replacement to arrive. Strongly considering buying a spare one of these unique boards too.
Anything on this yet? Am very interested to see how this one comes out.
Did they say how much it was if you wanted to buy one outright? Sounds like it would be nice to have a spare like you said.
Finally got around to pulling the board. Did not see anything obviously bad, but I re-flowed all of the pins on the connectors just to be sure. Re-installed in game & no change - the LED's went on & off at will. Seemed to work more often when the game was cold, once we played a few games & it heated up the LED lights went away totally.
Looks like it's time to bite the bullet & order a new one. FYI, these are about $108.00 from Pinball life - special ordered from Stern.
Dammit
