I can't find a booklet for this machine, I suspect it may not have one. Regardless, are there multiple drop targets scoring 5000 points during three ball play versus five ball play? I have seen other titles where the rule set changes with number of balls selected.

I keep mine on three ball, and it seems like an unlit drop target will score 5000 instead of 500 points - its not always the same drop target, so I think it indexes the same way as the lit drop targets. Thanks

The 5k target moves around, and it is indicated by a light under the plastic behind the target. It’ll be obvious once you know what to look for. An unusual way to indicate scoring, for sure.

I don’t know the difference between three ball rules and five ball rules, but I doubt any changes would impact the way the 5k targets work.

You’re correct, I’ve been told Gottlieb didn’t make manuals for add-a-ball pins. I used to have a Team One, and that’s how I learned about that. It is a fun pin, I actually like it better than Abra Cadabra.

Surprisingly, Add-A-Ball machines didn't come with a manual.

ryanwanger is right. 3ball & 5ball settings don't affect the 5k targets.

Well, that's what I was afraid of. So, most likely my problem is with the relays in the relay bank. I have noticed how sensitive the rack is to twisting, and its hard to adjust the contacts properly when the final orientation is different from the rack's final resting place. I'll remove the field and work on them again.

Thanks to all for the help and comments.

This is controlled by the discs on the Target Bank Spot relay (KS) which is a mini stepper (AS type).
