I'm willing to bet it's controlled by servos, like Charlie emery did in the back of zombie girls. Really for something light, servos make much more sense. Much lower power, and you can control position (not just full extension or retract). Also after watching that a few times it doesn't look like the ball hitting the pin is making it go up, it looks like there might be optos on top detecting the ball passing by
