Quoted from Deaconblooze:

Isn't that a flipper between 4 and 9?
Edit: maybe not - doesn't seem to have the same rubber outline as the others, and not sure there's much to shoot for besides that right ramp.

I'd think so,
to hit that ramp on the right...
My count, four flippers total.

I like the bowling ball pops.
Making 1 the bowling pins

Man I like what's been shown so far

Quoted from toyotaboy:

My poor attempt at a photoshop job

I'm hoping I'm wrong about the face, I'm hoping for a Corvette smash in the lower window like street fighter

lebowski_playfield.jpg 133 KB

Thanks for the mockup

It'd be neat if the face was an LCD and during different modes a different characters' face popped up on the LCD.

Damn not only is that toy pretty cool, but that's one of the classiest pinball updates trailers I've seen.
Sure dig the Dutch Pinball guys style.

There's a huge, huge problem with this game.........
Can't do a Hitler video because it looks so damn good

Maybe he can't get out of his MMR preorder

Quoted from Evelknievel:

Here's my impression of TBL as promissed.
For the record: the music isn't one of the 20 licensed songs, but a rightsfree one, so youtube won't block it
» YouTube video

Thank you,
Btw I liked the song

It's apparently not possible for some people to discuss the layout.
If you can't take an objective look at the playfield layout -- why, just keep that monkey poo coming !!!

Closer to a WH2O fucked a MM in a penthouse bowling alley, while on acid trip and some good quaaludes with the Dude.
It's not a cookie cutter fan layout as far as I can tell...

Quoted from mof:

Now that we have two fun new gush threads for the "Reveal" and a cool thread for the "Art" -- perhaps this can be a playfield LAYOUT discussion thread after all?
ha! (impossible!)
The layout for TBL is MM.
It's an 8-shot fan parabola with an upper-center PF toy. If I had a CAD drawing of TBL, I'm confident it would line up right on top of MM's CAD drawing nearly perfectly.
Discuss.
Is continually re-using an Eddy MM fan layout good for pinball?
-mof

Does Wh20 feel like MM?
Take away the upper pf and you have a seven versus eight shot outcome game as well.
The shots go different places and interact with the ball differently.
Wh20 and MM feel different to me
When i think of copies I think AFM to MM
ST to SM
not MM to TBL

of course this is all speculation and opinion

Price wise this games a steal compared to any Stern Nib if you live in Europe.

Quoted from HENSBROOKER:

Then there is some advice for you, sir... Just sell that AC/DC + another pin which your done with, and get yourself such a fine piece of Dutch enginuity!

Yep
I sold SS and BSD
TBL paid in full

Super exclusive ad from the Pinside Marketplace!

Quoted from burningman:

I would have to say that was an excellent move. SS and BSD are great games, but I think in the end, you will not be disappointed by your decision.
See you in a few days Monkey!

Can't wait bro

I believe they say 100% refundable till your machine hits production.
Come on click that button

#1108 9 years ago

6 out of 7 of the people that I know that ordered MMR have cancelled

Quoted from Hazoff:

Sorry Aurich but in this case you are wrong, Metallica wasn't popular till after that atrocity of a black Album and until then the recordings were not very good, I'm an audio engineer. Why Stern doesn't develop a better LED processing board that gives more of a incandescent look to there lights, who knows? but STLE has amazing lighting and Met Pre for me has to be the best lit machine to date. I haven't seen TBL in person and I hope it has beaten everyone only gets better from here as a result.
Listen TBL better be ground breaking or they won't last long and yeah I want it to force other pin companies to step up their game. But to say TBL murders Stern in sound and lights is a little harsh, I think you've hopped on TBL lovers bandwagon, I know its good but take it easy.

Sorry Hazoff
Aurich is right the GI and inserts are superior to Sterns by a noticeable difference.
It takes only a few seconds looking at the game to see why.

Quoted from OldPinster:

I really love the look of TBL. It has the feel of a Willams game from the 90's in that there seem to be several different "areas" in the game to explore ... like walking through several rooms in a house. Hobbit seems really cool too ... but it feels like a 1 room house. That might sound silly but that's how it feels to me.
I really love that there are suddenly many manufacturers popping up creating new games. What a great thing!! BUT ... I wish there were more manufacturers targeting the 5k-6k price range. Only Stern seems to be selling in that range? Is there just no room for cutting edge games in that price range? It's tough to make an impulse buy these days. lol. Why aren't some of these ingenious guys figuring out how to make an epic game in this price range? You can't compete with Stern in that price range?

Spooky is

Quoted from pinballslave:

OK, so can someone who played the game or saw it being played explain how it's possible to get a 7/10 split AND be able to get a strike... There must either be some interaction between the pins to make a ball that can roll between the 7 and 10 pins be able to knock them all down in one roll... Or, if they don't contact each other somehow, they must be using some timing software to determine where the ball hit the rack and then retract the un-hit pins... Am I wrong!?

Impossible is a strong word but I think it'll be highly unlikely the machine would ever let you get a 7-10 spare.
The physics and mechanics just aren't there

#1307 9 years ago

I agree,
The bowling mech is more than enough as is
Plays great and the mirror finish on the outer walls is awesome because you can watch as a spectator on the side.

#1310 9 years ago

Might be possible with a real liberal tilt setting

#1311 9 years ago
Quoted from Jvspin:

I wonder why they didn't use a smaller ball.

It's the same NOT ball that's used for the pf

Post edited by Pdxmonkey: It's NOT the same ball

Oh thanks for the clarification
Sorry to mistake that
