Quoted from joelreeves:

hmmmm. now i'm torn. any way to get a pic of the blue ramp with the game on?

This is a tough decision. Very 50-50.

Please take a few pics from the player's POV in a dark-ish room, with lights on and plastics on.

thanks,
mof

I've made up my mind. I am definitely going with red or blue.

Quoted from Stu:

Yeah when I restored mine 2 months ago I used a new plunger & spring and now mine will cycle twice through the 100K and go to 50 (third cycle)......

That's insane.

After long and careful consideration, I've come up with my criteria for choosing a color based on the following ideas:

1. Toys vs Background art: The ramp is a "toy" and deserves to stand out as "something to do" like pop bumpers do as distinct from background art colors which are all blue in the upper PF.
2. Color Balance: There isn't enough red on the overall playfield to warrant removing more red.
3. Action/Fire: The idea of "spinning out fast" is a firey "red" idea, not a cold "calm/slow" idea
4. Lettering: The red / yellow / blue top right of the words "spintout" look great as-is.
5. Feeling: The glowing red feels really good. It's slightly "evil"
6. Adjacent pins in the Sys 11 room are accented: blue, blue, blue, and red, I need more red.
7. But I just love blue!

It's 6 votes for red 1 for blue. Tough call. Idea #7 is begging me to go blue.

As for the strip, mine is at an angle as well. I get about 9-10 rotations (5K-10K) with a red spring. I would simply hope for equal or more rotations from a new one.

Red it is.

Are you placing your order yet?

Even if you don't own a Taxi yet, invest this part now.

Box arrived, 4 days from placing order... Quite nice.
Skill shot is much tougher now. It's much closer to roulette now.
As for the number of spins, it's got more variance now. 9-11 where before it was 9-10.

Thank you Twisted Pins!

My new ramp performs so well, that I cannot control getting the 25k. AND it peaks at 100,000 + 10,000, so a full plunge doesn't auto-grab me the 25,000 either. Quite nice.
