Hmm..I have logged my Taxi on ipsnd.net also. It suggests ~7,300 games produced based on the serial # ranges logged.
166113 Mine is an original Marilyn - it is a German reimport - with German instructions cards and coin mechs
There was a good number of Marilyns made (both domestic and International) - I think 2,000-3,000 if you extrapolate the data.
Serial # database info:
Domestic production serial #s = 160000 - 163700 est. (163652 is last recorded), up to ~161700 was Marilyn, so about 1,700 domestic Marilyns, then about 2,000 domestic Lolas
International production serials = 165000 - 168500 est. (168471 is last recorded), up to 166834 was Marilyn, so about 1,850 international Marilyns and 1,650 international Lolas
~7,250 Total Production with 3,550 Marilyns (very close to half) if you trust the "trait data" that people logged into the IPSND database.
