I haven’t really put a ton of games on my Taxi since I picked it up last year. I am going to tear it apart after I finish my T2 so I started playing it this week. I noticed that during game play my game only shows the jackpot amount and does not show the scrolling meter bonus. Is this an option in the menu somewhere that I am just missing. Or maybe do I have old ROMs or something. My game ROMs say rev 4. I always like to make sure a game is running 100% before I tear it apart

For whatever it’s worth, I think Mine shows meter bonus during the game and only the jackpot bonus when it’s being added to.

#3 5 months ago

That’s what I want mine to do. Mine only shows jackpot amount. All the time. Meter bonus lights flash during gameplay and it adds bonus at the end but it never shows me

#4 5 months ago

Hmmm. Yea I’m quite sure mine only showed the jackpot as well.

U running an original display or LED?

#7 5 months ago

What game code are you running?

#8 5 months ago

The ROMs say rev 4 on them.

What brand led?

They are rottendog I am almost certain. They were in it when I bought it. I will check when I get home to be sure

I have rottendog and ended up rewiring to get the meter to work right.

Man I appreciate it. I’d have never figured that out. Thanks a ton. I’ll get to soldering

Did it work for you?

Well..... I ran the jumpers and ended up with some garbage characters on the display. So I quickly removed them and then got distracted with this T2 I am redoing. Are the jumpers from one pin to the exact corresponding pin on the other chip? That is what it looks like in the photo.

Yeah, pretty sure it was straight forward... Did you get the ground lines? Those are a bit different I think. I can try more pics if you think it would help

I connected jumpers from each leg to the corresponding leg on the other chip minus the first leg as it appeared to not have a jumper attached. I didn’t do anything else. Do you care to take another pic. I am not sure about the ground

#17 5 months ago

I think first leg is grounded or powered.. I'll get some pics tonight

Ok I give up. I did this jump twice and both times I got the same result. See pics below. The display doesn’t run correctly when I do it. I thought maybe I had it wrong so I used new jumper wires and redid the hack. Still the same result. Also the meter bonus will turn but it always shows the first three digits of the jackpot. The last few digits will scroll as they are supposed to but the display doesn’t work just right.

I then thought... I’ll just put the pinscore from my police force into taxi and the rottendog in the police force. So with the pinscore in taxi the meter bonus works wonderfully. However, when I put the RD board in police force the slave board will not work at all. So is there just something wrong with the RD display?

I had the same issue with a Pinscore display, however, pinscore has 2 different outputs for the slave display cable. One works for Taxi, one works for Police Force. Mine was in the wrong spot.

I know what you’re talking about. My pinscore will work perfectly in both taxi and police force. But for some reason the RD slave board only works in taxi and when it works it won’t do the meter bonus

My wires run through the holes, no contact. Here's another pic.
