I posted this question in the Taxi Club but have had no results so thought I would open it up to the wider forum.

The original Taxi speaker panel had as its last award 'Special', I bought a new speaker panel part number 31-1420-553 and the new panel shows "2 Million' as the last award.

It looks like the regular suppliers show this same '2 Million' panel.
I am struggling to find info regarding this change and how to implement it as my Taxi scores 'Special'
I am running Marilyn L3 roms.

Has anyone changed theirs to be a '2 Million' score ?, or any info regarding this change would be welcome

I have been trying to find info on this "2 Million" speaker panel, so far with no result.
I have posted here on pinside, and on AussieArcade, with no result.
I have sent messages to Classicarcades, where I bought the panel, no response
I have sent a message to Marcos Specialities who resell the panel, no response
I sent a message to PPS via their web site, no response
I sent an email directly to Rick at PPS being they hold the license, also no response so far.

I am very confused as to the lack of info. I cannot believe that I am the only person who has replaced their speaker panel.
It came from somewhere and is being reproduced. All I want to know is how this is activated for '2 Million' score. Or where I can get the correct one with Special.

I have now refitted my crap "Special" panel to my fully restored Taxi and it bugs me every time I look at it, but until I can get some more info I am unable to finish my project. Please Help

Hopefully these threads will make people aware of the different panel, and maybe someone will shed some light on the availability of a new "Special" panel, else I will have to look up cleaning scratches from perspex.

Still no response from anyone I contacted.
I guess my next step is to contact the rest of the suppliers and let them know this panel is really no good, that way if anyone buys one they have some come back that this has been promulgated.
If it's not down to a rom change and I am missing something then I feel pretty ripped off and very disappointed that PPS have not even bothered to respond.
I have spent considerable time chasing this and if it adjustable in the software then I am happy to apologise to all involved, but so far no joy, so I am assuming the worst.

Well, so far no news on my 'Special' speaker panel.
Has anyone else that was involved in this had any info whatsoever?
I have sent a number of messages to ClassicArcades both on pinside and via eBay, the last one being today.
There is a PPS forum thread that states in April they are to be remade, as well as the post on here by ClassicArcades, but so far no other communication.
If there are others with this speaker panel issue, maybe you might like to help nudge it along
