"Give to me Club!"

Quoted from practicalsteve:

CPR is going to put out a repro mirrored backglass for Taxi soon

It was Stu from CPR that said so. Should be true and very cool.

Quoted from muzikman:

After only a few days of use, I'm having trouble getting the ball higher than 50,000 in the spinout shot. Any suggestions on how to adjust it so I can reach the 100,000 and beyond? Thanks in advance!

It's also possible that the plunger spring is just plain too old. You might need to replace it with a new one. Also, there are several different strength springs available. A stiffer one may help, but don't over-do it, or you could damage the spinout ramp.

Quoted from Parman1435:

What do you like as replacement bulbs behind the Marilyn drop targets? I was thinking blue frosted but am open to suggestions.

I'd stick with incandescents there, but it's up to you. Try the LED's and see what looks good to you.

Anybody else come to that conclusion?

Also is there a place to buy topper

Try this guy, who had a batch custom fabricated. Sounds like he still has some. Looks like they came out really well.

Quoted from Pinball_Nate:

I noticed some of my connectors have wires kind of looped around and pinched into each area (each pin?) - was this a "quickie" way to wire the plugs and should I re-wire/solder them the correct way?

There are two types of connectors.
IDC is "Insulation Displacement Connector" . The wire is just pushed (looped) through a slot and the connector makes contact through the insulation on the wire by making a cut in it.
Trifurcon connectors use an insert piece which is first crimped onto the wire, then inserted into the connector housing.

but I think there may even be another full layer of Mylar under this one.

If there is, please post pics of the in-between. That would be oddly cool to see.
Hope this continues to go well for you!

Quoted from Sk0r:

Anyway, I now have another issue: my right flipper is dead. Absolutely nothing happens when I press the button. I checked the fuse, it's fine. I also cleaned the cabinet switch and checked the button wires, which also looks fine.

Do the cabinet switches check in switch test?
Do the coils fire in coil test?

Quoted from Karma_Bum:

but I still get quite a few bounces into the glass on a strong shot to that end of the Lola targets.

It's possible that the target is angled back a bit, so that the ball rebounds off it in an upward direction. Take a close look and see what it looks like. If that's the case, you can look into replacing the target. Ball hitting the glass happens occasionally on any machine. Not a big deal.

Yo! Taxi!

Quoted from Boise_D:

Anyone have a working knocker Assy they're willing to part with?

My Taxi was also missing the entire knocker assembly when I got it. You might find a used one, but not that bad to buy new.

It's only been 12 hours. Hopefully someone with an extra sees this.
Maybe try starting a new thread if this post doesn't attract any attention.

Quoted from BriPin:

Has anyone seen this or know what it means?

Just a guess, but that could mean that the owner or operator installed it in 2003.
They could be tracking maintenance work to watch for things that fail frequently.

Anyone selling Taxi drop target decals? Classic Arcades doesn't have.

Bay Area Amusements has them:

A friend bought that set and we were less than thrilled with the print quality

Huh. That does look fuzzy. Got mine a couple years ago and they were much better. Different batch maybe?
