Bought my Taxi just a couple of days ago, so I'm officially in the club...and already having technical issues.
It's my first. The technical issues make my husband (who was extremely skeptical about getting one) want to murder me. I have an operator manual and a link to a repair guide but so far I'm pretty terrible at this.
I'm not scared. I worked 911 for the last 7 years. That's a lot harder and more technical than pinball. But I am still at that phase where I'm perceiving it like it's an alien xenomorph autopsy and I'm thinking, "yo, I have no qualifications here." So I'm just slowly desensitizing myself by tinkering...while hubby is at work.
Sound fixed - WOOHOO! It's just not the same game without the music. Thanks for the all the support.
Yo. Need a recommendation for a battery eliminator for my Taxi. I found two on ebay from the same seller. Anyone have an opinion one way or another? Also does anyone know what type of socket I would buy for one of these, because I'm clueless in this department. Thanks for taking a look Taxi lovers.

Hey everybody,
So I'm replacing some burnt-out bulbs, and I discovered that two of my pop bumpers have #194s, and one has a #555. What do you guys use in your Taxi? Thanks!
Quoted from bicyclenut:Retro LED kit from Nifty LED... turned out awesome
I'll keep that in mind for future updates. As much as I would like to upgrade, I just need to replace the incandescents. Pretty sure they should be #555. Unfortunately, I'm on an extremely limited budget.
Hey, I need an idea of where to start troubleshooting my Taxi. Yesterday I got three LED bulbs for my pop bumpers. I installed them and they worked, but lower pop bumper stopped popping and bumping, but no other issues. A little later the volume went quiet on the machine - it is still playing music and callouts like normal, just much quieter. Then the lights went out under there right slingshot. I checked the ribbon cables, fuses, and don't see anything obvious causing any of these issues. Ran the diagnostics, the bumper doesn't pop, the lights under the slingshot don't illuminate, and the volume is the same. I looked through some of the old posts and didn't see anything similar. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
I pulled the LED's when it malfunctioned, no change. The sound has magically corrected itself overnight though.
So it's still just bottom pop bumper, lights under right slingshot, and apparently the coin door lights. I'm stumped.
Quoted from RonSS:Hmmm.
Have you checked the switch matrix? Maybe there is a common denominator.
Don't see one. Today I'm getting an error on switch 21. Switch edge test registers contact when triggered from under the playfield, but not from above. I'm good with mechanical issues, but not so great with electrical stuff.
