Installed a pinsound plus in my BSD today. Noticed a hissing type noise when the game is at idle ( on but not playing) is this normal? I’m using the factory stock speakers for now.
Also noticed when switching back to the factory sounds, the volume is much lower than the pinsound mix. Are you supposed to adjust the volume on the board itself if you switch back to factory?

From post 1042… getting a hissing type noise on my BSD with pinsound plus. Reached out to pinsound and they asked for the diag folder from the usb. Checked out ok. Then stated I shouldn’t be using the factory speaker wiring.
I also running stock speakers for now. Anyone else using the factory speaker wiring ? Does it have a hissing type noise???

    Quoted from Robotworkshop:

All I did was download the 7 different orchestrations from the Pinsound site as ZIP files. Then starting with a blank USB thumb drive I copied over the ZIP file for the original sound track. Put that in the game and let it convert the files. After that was done I shut down the game and removed the drive. The ZIP file was no longer there. Then I copied over the next ZIP file and continued that whole process one at a time until all were processed.
I didn't edit any files on my computer or download any software to edit the orchestrations. Only used the computer for downloading and transferring the ZIP files.
I was just surprised that the volume difference was so different between the background music and normal sound effects to the point is all you can really hear is the background music. Didn't know if I missed a step or if something was wrong.
Unless I'm the only one still using factory speakers I would expect someone would have run into this on their Dr Who before. I guess it is possible that he board is defective somehow but I don't have a reference to compare with.

Contact pinsound. They will probably ask you to send them the diag folder from the usb.

    Going to repost this question.
I have a hissing noise from by BSD with a pinsound plus board. I’m using the factory speakers ( for now) . At first I had used the factory wiring and the hissing was from all speakers. Pinsound said I should be using the stero wiring. Switched to that and now the hissing is only from the cabinet speaker. I’ve sent my diag file from the usb to pinsound and it checked out ok. Anyone else run into this???

How many files can you have on a plus board?

Downloaded a file for BSD from the pinsound site and transfered it to my usb. The game doesn’t recognize that is a new file. What am I doing wrong?

    #1120 1 year ago
    Quoted from OTRChief:

Did you put the zip file on the root directory of your USB?

Not sure. I opened the download and dragged the files to the USB. Is this correct?

    #1123 1 year ago
    Quoted from pinballinreno:

Copy and paste the zipped file to a blank freshly formatted (fat32) usb stick
The game will see the file and unzip if for you, it takes a few minutes.
The Pinsound is a bit particular about what usb stick it likes.
I have had very good success with these:

So there can’t be any existing files on the usb? Mine came directly from pinsound with the original and a custom mix pre installed.

    Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:

There can be existing files as you can install multiple orchestrations (one at a time).

They have to done all at the same time then?
Why wouldn’t you be able to add on

    #1130 1 year ago

Was able to figure it out. Thank you gentlemen.
