I have read that you should keep the cabinet speaker connected to provide better mids. Not sure if it is true, but I have my cabinet speaker connected with the external subwoofer and it all sounds pretty good. But I'm no audiophile.

I just installed a pinsound in my DM and put in pinsound speakers. Even with the original soundtrack, it sounds awesome. Gonna hook it up to a powered subwoofer soon.
