I think Stern really missed the boat by not having a Walking Dead pinball in the background of the show . They could have just set it in the back to be in some of the camera shots . I'm sure Slash would have enjoyed it when he sat in as a guest host . Stern just needs to plant the seed !

#2 8 years ago

That would be dope.

Yes and maybe in the last Hobbit movie they can make reference to the Blu-ray boxed set.

No time to plan second rate ideas like this. Their Marketing Dept is fully vested in a more productive marketing strategy of monitoring Facebook and deleting negative posts.

Seed is planted!! Contest commercial during show & talking dead host mentioned it also!!
But I agree, would be awesome to see one in the background.

You're funny!

You think they purposely missed an opportunity? LOL!

Stern gave AMC 48 NIB TWD pro machines. 48. For this they get prime time commercial exposure on the highest rated show in it's demographic on television.

Stern would jump at the opportunity to put a LE on the talking dead. It obviously was not an option for them or they would have done it.

Instead of looking at a "missed" opportunity let's look at the fact that Jody/Gary have gotten modern pinball machines on national television.

I disagree. Anyone remember the double dragon movie?

The current audio package makes even less sense in the context of this information.

This is impressive, considering ALL of the licensed themes we have seen, which none have ever been promoted in this manner. Given it is a top show, it is even more mind blowing.

Chris Hardwick specifically mentioned Stern Pinball and the TWD pin giveaway on last night's episode of Talking Dead. I'd say they took advantage of the opportunity.

Stern must be doubling down on TWD and hoping for huge sales.
I would think (non-professionally) that TWD should be a home run with operators.

But I know less than I know.

I wonder what sort of advertising is done overseas, since Stern has indicated that's where most of their business is these days.

This almost made me spit my coffee out. Funny!

Also, while Jared is right and this is probably the best advertised machine ever because of the give away, I agree that one in the background of Talking Dead is a great idea. It would be cool for people to see it and in between commercials they could show guests playing it such as Slash like you mentioned.

I remember when Stern came out with Terminator 3 they had one on a talk show with Arnold . He walked over and started playing . That was about the end of the interview .

I am trying to figure out where you came up with this number. Per the rules, the sweepstakes lasts 8 weeks and there is one weekly winner for each of the 8 entry periods. That is a total of 8 machines.

"The Sweepstakes Period will consist of eight (8) individual Entry Periods (the “Entry Periods”), as detailed in the chart in section 3 below. One (1) weekly random drawing (the “Weekly Drawing(s)”) will be held at the end of each of the eight (8) Entry Periods, from among all eligible entries received during the applicable Entry Period, in order to select one (1) potential Weekly Prize winner per Entry Period, for a total of eight (8) Weekly Prizes throughout the Sweepstakes Period. Then, at the end of the Sweepstakes Period, there will be one (1) grand prize random drawing (the “Grand Prize Drawing”), performed from among all eligible entries received throughout all Entry Periods, in order to select one (1) potential Grand Prize winner."

Still anxiously waiting to get an email/call to say I've won one of these. No luck on that yet.

Thought they'd list names of winners so far, but there isn't

I was wondering the same thing.
I always understood it to be one machine per week.
