Wow its been awhile since I checked in. Lots of nice rigs here. The wife join the club about a week ago. She now has a HyperGreen 2016 Rubicon Hard Rock. Now we have twice the memories to make and twice the maintenance. She's already going crazy with mod lists. I told her it takes time to make your build. Looking for a soft top already. Got some mirrors for when the doors are off and a sun shade.
[quoted image]

I love the Hyper Green!

When I got my 2017 Rubicon Hard Rock, that was the color that I wanted. Unfortunately they discontinued it for 2017 and I went with white.

I have a 2018 Unlimited Sahara that I wound up buying off lease. Only has 14K miles on it due to working at home so the residual make it a really good deal.

I could trade it for nearly $10K more than I bought it for, because supply is limited due to a chip shortage. Two months ago, there were 30 wranglers in stock. Now, 0 to 3 at any one dealer. Insane right now.

yeah i make seats for Ford Explorer and when they went down due the chip shortage so did I. Haven't been to work since the last week of April and from what I have been seeing from Ford employees its going to be a long rest of the year. I might have to go find a job at some point.

Quoted from maffewl:

Anyone else with the JL have steering that feels loose and always needing feedback? I took it into the dealership and they replaced a gear per manufactures bulletin. That helped a little, but it’s still very squirrely.

They replaced the aluminum steering box with the cast iron one? That'll probably be the biggest issue. Check tire pressures, if you have A/T or M/T play with the pressures. Too low or too high can make it wander more. Lifted or stock height? If lifted, did you replace the track bars with adjustable ones? We did the 2" Mopar kit and the axles are 1.75" off center now. Waiting on horrible fedex to finally deliver the new Metalcloak ones so I can center the axles

I'm getting closer on my CJ2A rebuild -- Brakes, wheel bearings, steering, drivelines, transmission, transfer case, & pedal pivots all rebuilt... working on engine now. Should have it rolling under it's own power by end of summer.

My boy has decided to part ways with his Jeep (he calls it his pavement princess) for something with better fuel efficiency.
Anyone interested in a 2010 Sport, hard top, 118000 miles, PM me.
We are in no hurry, his replacement is coming in from Cali and could be a few weeks.
I can get plenty of more pictures for those interested.
This Jeep is currently located about 1.5 hours north of Houston TX.
We are thinking of around 18K based on KBB private resale values as it has a leveling kit and oversize, load range E tires.

My new vehicle will be made next week so my dear Wrangler has to go. I've owned it 8 years. Automatic, everything works. Driver's door leaks a bit is the only problem but car is garaged so not a problem for me. $5k.
I cannot accept less as my son wants it. 204k miles.

Picked up a very rare Jeep a couple months ago. CJ 8 Jeep Scrambler. They only made 27,000 of these total from 1981-1986. The one I have is a 1982.

Looking for a decent TJ in NY area. I'll eventually be putting a plow on.

Anybody tired of theirs? Want to sell/trade?

Ice cream chariot/driveway plow. High miles are fine.

Took a trip to West Virginia a lovely shot of the wife's Jeep, and this poor Stargate with only one flipper working and no GI at the hotel.

engine install a (resized).jpg
Finally installing engine in the 1947 Willys CJ2A "Rat Patrol".

engine in (resized).jpg

& done. Did it solo, only took a couple of hours. Most of the time was spent dealing with getting the rear crossmember bolted in. Would have been much easier with a helper.
All(?) that remains is exhaust system, cooling system, misc controls hookup, fenders, hood, grill, & wiring......

There is no dead pedal at all in the JL/JT, so your left foot has to sit flat on the floor. Starts feeling pretty terrible once you've been driving for a while, since your right foot is on the pedals. I'm constantly moving my left foot around trying to find a comfortable position for it

Good to know..... It's like pinball, gotta buy mods before you even get the jeep!

Yup. Spot on. Place to rest foot when on longer drives AND place to push against for stability if off road

It's a Bedrug brand and I ordered from etrailer
Bedrug makes a different version depending on if you have spray in bedliner or not (I did)

Took about 6 weeks and etrailer had it drop shipped right from manufacturer
Fit is really nice

Very nice, congrats!

I see you are in TN. Very different, and in many ways more challenging, wheeling out there. With all the rain you guys get, you are almost always dealing with wet trails. One of the most difficult trails we have out here in Big Bear is Holcomb Creek. It's not just the boulders that make it difficult, it's the boulders combined with the water!

Love Tennessee. My wife and I are planning our vacation there next year. We want to scope out areas for a possible move in the next few years. Still doing our research, but leaning towards eastern parts of the state.

#733 47 days ago

Doubt it will see much off road use, but the wife's new 4Xe has been fun to drive (when she will let me ).

5J5A8654 (resized).JPG

Meanwhile I have taken the JT off the beaten path on occasion. Still look forward to driving it every time.

And I will definitely take you up on your offer!

I'm looking to get a CJ5 as a 2nd/fun vehicle. Anyone have any thoughts on these? This is the one I'm considering tomorrow... 1976 model. I just love these classic smaller ones.

The CJ5 is the last real Jeep. Go for it..

Started the Rat Patrol for the first time today. Ran sweet - no drama, no leaks, no odd noises... just the thundering roar of the 60hp "go devil" flathead four. Ran it up to operating temp & shut it down, oil pressure good.

(well, ok - second time. I had it running a year ago, but on only 3 cylinders & those @ 70-ish # compression)

They pop up on bringatrailer a lot, if the one you are going to see doesn’t pan out. Also a good resource to see what similar ones have sold for recently.

Spent the day off washing and waxing Nightrain. Whew, I’m worn out but always rewarding seeing the results.

Long shot in a pinball forum, but anyone have (or know of) a 2 Door JL hardtop that they would want to sell. My new jeep came with a soft top (which I really like) but I’m considering a hardtop for winter. I have the garage space to swap out the two and store them.

Facebook market place has a bunch of 4 door JLU hardtops, but hard to find the 2 door.

Not sure if this will help, but you can check out the JL Wranger Forum -- I believe there is a market place there.
