TAF vertical lines on DMD and random sound effects

Hi all,

When I started my TAF today (after a month of no playing), the DMD kept showing vertical lines in regular positions (see image). Also, there was no music, and every sound effect was replaced by another seemingly random sound effect. Very weird.

Fortunately, when I restarted the game after first switching of the power, everything was back to normal. However, I hope this is not the beginning of the end... Can anyone tell me what could cause this, and whether this is something to be worried about?

Reseat the large 4 conductor ribbon cable at all 4 connection that starts at the top left of the MPU to Fliptronix board to sound board to DMD controller board. You may have to reseat it 2 or 3 times even. Make sure you pull by the connector and not by the ribbon cable. That is partly how these begin to fail.

Yes, I've had this same issue a few times as well and was able to fix temporarily by reseating the cables until I finally got a new set.

Had the same problem with my BR after I had removed the backbox for transport. Just reseated the ribbon cable.
