Bally, 1992The two lamp sockets above the vault were replaced due to cracked brittle plastic. I have soldered on new sockets and lights. However, they do not turn on.
I want to verify my wiring and confirm if there are/or not diodes involved behind the socket.
Can someone post a close up pic of the wiring behind the vault lamps? I want to verify if there are diodes and make sure wires are connected correctly.

Wires go directly to the socket, no diode there, it is somewhere else. So it doesn't matter which wire goes to which side of socket.

All feature lamps are going to have a diode. It's in the manual as part of the lamp matrix diagram and there is a diagram at the top of the matrix that shows how the diode goes. As a clue, you can look at all the other feature lamps on a socket under the playfield and see what color wires go to which side of the diode.
