TAF Thing Opto error code 84 & 85 - gremlin
I could use guidance on getting Thing Opto board error code fixed, here is what I have done so far:
replaced Opto board from Marco,
traced all wires via continuity test from opto board to J206-9 and J208-4 and 5, all good no broken wires, checked voltage at opto board of 15.19 and green = 11.9V and white green and white yellow = 11.8V.
Not understanding this when checking continuity of wires at Power circuit black and gray/yellow good no broken wires and pinned ok but when testing notice there is continuity reading at the gray white wire when testing the black wire? Removing connector J118 from board with J116 attached the pins for J118 are still showing continuity at both pins. Could there be something wrong at board level. Have not removed board to look at behind the board at solder connections – looks like a pain to remove board will that be necessary?
Running the Thing test which is now T15 - I upgraded to the Gold Rom set, the 01 operates and shows the open and closed optos correctly, 02 operates properly with one cycle.
All connectors are good with continuity tested at pins and not the wire.
Ideas are welcomed – been putzin with this for months.

Fixed. Checked the new Opto board by taking it off Thing assembly. Went to the test individual switch menu opto 84 worked but sporadically turned off and on by moving the board around. Replaced the new board with the old board and now works. Code is gone.
Guess got a bad new board and through messing and re soldering numerous connections fixed it.
