So I recently came into possession of a TAF, but the plunger would only shoot the ball barely past the swamp.
Easy fix, right? I bought new springs for the plunger and thought that would fix it... weirdly enough it made only a slight difference. It still only makes it up to thing once in 10 pulls, and you can forget about getting the ball around to the pop bumpers.
I feel it might have to do with the 'sleeve' which surrounds the rod itself. On my ToM it pulls out with the rod, but on TAM it pulls out so far that it is completely out of the hole. It catches the lip of the hole on release and slows it down, but that's not all of it... even if I pull it out 80% of the way and release, so it doesn't come out and therefore can't catch, I feel the ball shot is far too weak... and still won't make it up to thing.
Should I replace the whole assembly? I feel kinda dumb for not knowing why it's functioning so poorly. Is the sleeve supposed to pull out that far with the rod?
