I picked up a TAF and the sound is missing speach and different sounds. The chips have been replaced on the board. The Diodes are good. I get the bong when the game boots up. The sound plays through the menu until you try to play a game then it gets all messed up. My neighbor has a TAF and we put his rom on my bad board and put it into his machine and it does the same thing so I dont think it is the rom.

Anybody have any suggestions ?

We tested the ribbon cable on my machine and we put the board in my neighbors machine which is mint with his ribbon cables and it does the same thing in both machines.

Could the RAM be bad ?

We replaced the following below on the sound board. The diodes on the sound board where not replaced but tested ok. In test the sound plays correct but when you start a game there are voice call outs missing and there is background music missing.

Transistor - neg. 12v Regulator TO-220
Transistor - 12v Reg. TO-220
IC - 20 pin DIP octal edge trig flip-f
