For this decal, Bryan fills the coin door hole

Looking good!

#305 7 years ago

It is turning out quite nice! Thank you!

The Modfather did an AWESOME job on the hand and chair! The veins and age spots look absolutely incredible! Very happy I did this mod!

What a difference from the original look

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

#308 7 years ago

Modfsther painted mine, also. Looks 100000% better

#309 7 years ago
Quoted from KornFreak28:

All cleaned up with new trim installed

Why is the trim shorter on the sides? I have noticed this on a lot of machines.
Also, what is he sanding with when he sands for the decal? I would guess 1500.

#310 7 years ago

Hand and Chair look very good indeed, keep it up!

#311 7 years ago

That hand looks awesome. It is 100000x better. I do think it's too shiny though. I'd like to see one with a satin finish.

The trim is shorter on the sides because that's how you buy it. It's made the same as the originals.

Sanding before decals is done with 320 grit, followed by red Scotchbrite pad then white.

Modfather said it's the light on top of it making it appear too shiny. I did request a matte finish

#314 7 years ago

I contacted the Modfather and he was nice enough to get rid of the shine to the hand. It was about to ship out....
Looks a lot better with no shine! The Modfather ROCKS!

#317 7 years ago

Nickel plating of these parts is next....

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

#318 7 years ago

Next is sanding and painting the screens

Much better

And this is needed because some dipshit decided he'd paint the back of the cabinet and head with spray paint.

#321 7 years ago

Sanding takes place. It's impossible to remove the paint from each of the tiny little holes. Painting will take care of that

I think so too!

The following is a lesson in tumbling from Bryan: The first media is what it should look like. Even if it gets dirty, it should turn a darker brown. If it turns greyish, it's been contaminated with somwthing. It won't clean but it won't polish like it should. The parts won't shine like they should.

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

#325 7 years ago

Media used is crushed walnut shells and tumbler additive

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

More tumbling. These three will be running for days...

Looking good Bryan. Seems to be a fair share of beer drinking going on though...

I'm responsible for 2 cases

That's it? That's only a few days worth?

I need Bryan focused!

of all the threads that I favorite, this is the only one I really get excited when I see updates.
- unless the posts are all about beer -

Thanks....I think.

#334 7 years ago

Ok back to more updates....All targets are super old. They all get replaced. This single target is supposed to be blue

Glad you like it! It's a lot of work but well worth it....

#336 7 years ago

Fresh out of the tumbler. The fun part if picking the media out of the parts

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

#337 7 years ago

These are the pivot nuts the playfield rotates on. Needless to say they get replaced.

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

#338 7 years ago

Media stuck between the head and the washer is the worst.

#339 7 years ago

Time to fire up the ultrasonic. 2/3 water and 1/3 Purple Power.

That Thing hand looks amazing.

That Fulton Blonde tastes amazing.

(The Shiner Bock isn't too shabby either.)

I agree. Shiner Bock is not bad at all

#343 7 years ago

First up all the stuff from the playfield. Top and bottom.

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg
image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg
image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

#344 7 years ago

Then the tumbler again...nice and clean!

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

#345 7 years ago

Even run for ten minutes the ultrasonic doesn't get 100% everything. Bryan scrubs everything after It comes out of the tumbler

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

#346 7 years ago

After rinsing everything gets blown dry with compressed air To avoid any water stains.

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

#347 7 years ago

Harnesses...Like everything else they get scrubbed too.

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

#348 7 years ago

Bryan blows out all the connectors. They then get hung up to dry.

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

image (resized).jpegimage (resized).jpeg

#349 7 years ago

Switch harness.

Solenoid and flashers.
