Quoted from Mike_J:

Kelly's work is awesome.
You're a lucky guy.

Very true

Quoted from Plumonium:

Should this only be used on clearcoated playfields or older games as well? Can it damage the paint, example Pinbot?

I can't say. I've only done newer cleared games. On those, I use the freeze method and Orange Power to remove the glue. On non cleared games, it seems the heat method is better along with Goo Gone. Again, I've never tried it.

Original's the first one - left side. Right side peals right off, is painted black underneath, is less faded.

Bingo!!!

#59 7 years ago

Right front side also seems trimmed a bit further away from the edge.

Fun thread.

I'm going with the dark look. Black wireforms ect. Color matching posts. A few mods. Still debating between inner cab decals or not? What do you think?

It will turn out beautiful anyway so it's really your personal preference. I like the blades too. They have the advantage of providing depth and additional lighting to the playfield. You can remove them too if you don't like them. In fact, you could even have the decals underneath if you are not sure and want to have multiple options. Personally, I think it looks a lot better with something - either blades or mirror blades.

What's the plan for the playfield restoration & clear?

there are only a hand full of people who do work like brian does. I have listened to people say "thats better that bally did it in the first place" in reguard to game and pf restorations. My reply is always "you bet! why not do it the best possible"
I am not saying every game should be restored to mesuem quality, if you like them played, that great what ever makes you happy. I am one of the people that likes everything perfect, and that is the way brian does it. Totally respect the work and the effort.
cheers, kruz

Looks great so far! Was wondering, it looks like wood glue and clamps for the splitting of wood for the corners. I am redoing a F-14 with similar issues. But I was wondering about fixing the parts that are broken and chipped. What would you suggest for repairing?
