I'm liking red on top.

Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:Very, very carefully, grasshoppa.
First, you need to have some kind of a lift whereby you can remove the legs and basically have the game sitting on the floor. Without this, I don't know how you'd do it by yourself.
Drape some thin towels over the cabinet sides in the back where the playfield will be set.
Set the playfield next to the cabinet on it's back with the bottom of the playfield facing you. It should be vertical. Zip tie all the harnesses to the bottom of the playfield.
I then set a stool next to the cabinet towards the back. Lift the playfield onto the stool. Now, with one foot in the cabinet, set the playfield in place.
Piece O' cake.
Piece of cake huh? Just as I figured. Thanks for the tips. Keep up the awesome work BK........................................
Quoted from Damonator:I've been fortunate to have three games restored by Bryan and all three arrived back home undamaged in shipping. Bryan does a spectacular job protecting the pins for shipment. He ships them back on a pallet protected by multiple layers of blankets, cardboard and shrink wrap.
+ 1 on Damon's comments. I have had several pins restored by BK as well and when each game was shipped to me it is always covered in a cocoon of shipping blankets, cardboard and shrink wrap.
All of my pins arrived safely without a scratch. Even when games are wrapped as carefully and thoroughly as BK wraps them they are subject to potential shipping damage if the shipper is negligent, but carefully wrapping each pin significantly lessens the risk of damage during shipping.

I'm not familiar with the game play enough to know how these things go off. Is there any logic to putting red on the left with the red ramp and predominantly red graphics, and blue on right with the predom. blue graphics including at the top of the blue ramp? so its more of a left/right instead of top/bottom.
Do you narrow the playfield down a bit before restoring it and clear coating so that you have clearance for the felt and inner cabinet stickers?

Not at all. The decals are paper thin and there's not much to the felt either.
Awesome! Love all the photos and you taking the time to document the whole process.
Bryan your work is over the top!

You got it! It's been a pleasure doing this for the community and I truly hope you guys have enjoyed it so far. Almost done and It's a bit sad actually, but stoked about having it home to stare at it....you didn't think I had plans of playing this baby, Did you? Lol
Bryan is a stand up guy and I highly recommend him for your pinball restoration needs. No BS, no non-sense with him. My experience has been top-notch and he is always willing to teach you stuff and answers all your questions.
I asked him COUNTLESS questions all these months and he was (and still is) always more than willing to help me with whatever doubts I had and he would always do it in a way I could understand some of this pinball stuff I'm barely starting to learn.
Bryan, Goose Island 312??? Far step from the other @#$% you were drinking! Do you consider 312 an import?
Machine is looking great!!!
I'm curious to see how you like the FF speakers on your game... I've liked them on my Sterns, but found stock sounds better on Williams games.
(restoration turned out SPECTACULAR, by the way... jealous!!!!!!)

Quoted from Whysnow:Bryan, where do you send out stuff for chrome?
I use Ron Woodard, here on Pinside. He uses the same company Mike Chestnut used in Nashville.

Hilton, Ron had a bunch of stuff on display at his booth in the Vendor Hall at EXPO 2016. If you passed by a bunch of colored chrome legs and uber-shiny brass parts on display, that was Ron's booth.
So we are pretty much done except for a few minor details. One of those details is the THING lamp board on the speaker panel. When you install a color DMD on TAF, the lamp board must be removed in order for the color DMD to fit. Bryan came up with a super cool mod to keep the THING lamp board in the game.
I must admit, I was not expecting this at all. Once again, Bryan demostrates skill at the highest level with this awesome mod. Enjoy!

I would love to say I came up with this but I did NOT!! I forget who, but someone else came up with the idea and I just happened to come across it. Here it is for anyone interested.

This is the one for inserts.
