I've finally flipped power back on to my TAF after a pf swap and most is looking/working good except I'm not getting an image on my Color DMD. I have power, see the screen's glow, but just no image. I tried swapping out to a regular DMD from my pile of parts (although I'm not sure if it works), and no image there either. Never had an issue with the display on this machine before, so wondering if I've just mis-wired or shorted something? My ribbon cables are correct and from what I see in the schematics, I have this board wired correctly. I also see the red LED on the board is lit. Any ideas on common reasons a DMD/ColorDMD won't display an image?

Another issue I'm having is I have no idea how to re-wire the lights to my pops. My pre-swap pictures just didn't focus on the light wiring, so no help there, and there aren't enough wires for me to wire each pop individually, so I'm assuming certain lights are chained. Can anyone post a pic of their TAF's light wiring or give me an idea on what I should be doing here.

The DMD is my biggest issue as I need to go into diagnostics for some controlled lighting and switch tests.

Thanks in advance!

Feature lamps on TAF. Once you get the display working. Go to Tests - Single Lamps, stop on the jet bumper you want, hit the start button then by hitting the "+" diagnostic button, each hit goes up a step through lamp, fuse, wiring, connector, etc. Or look at lamp matrix in the manual.

Until someone posts them.

IPDB has some - https://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=21&picno=10150 and the manual has pinouts for each board, connector info and wiring colors.

I want to see his pictures. Looking for power/ribbon cables un/plugged in wrong or a voltage problem on the power driver board.

I apologize, I thought you meant pictures to help him.

LilRocky please post pictures of your back box and what you have going on.

Oh no...it always about helping the OP. Too many possibilities if cannot see what is happening.

If you still have the DMD installed, you can measure all the (-112v, -100v, 5v, 12v, 62v) voltages at the DMD or at the DMD controller output and post those results, which must be close to those numbers. If they are, that DMD likely is dead.

Since the ColorDMD is also not displaying anything, that could be a ribbon cable issue or a 12Vunregulated voltage problem, that might be out on the power driver board.

Here are pix of the display board, color dmd board, and main pcb. I originally Re-seated connectors based on keyed pin outs, and then corrected errors through the schematic, but very possible that something is switched.

Aside from getting 120 on what you have as 112, everything else checks out.

I think you are correct about that looking at J603. The tracer is on pin 14

Try flipping this end of the ribbon cable so the red wire is on the left side. The boards are not marked very well in some cases. This is one of those times. 2019-11-10 18_52_17-Slack (resized).png2019-11-10 18_52_17-Slack (resized).png

Haha, yeah, I’m a dum dum in assuming that all the red ribbons should be oriented the same on each board. Reversed that ribbon and all is now good with the display. Thanks again to everyone for that quick fix.

Let us know how the lamp tests go.

Board really is not marked well. I usually have to check against another WPC game.
